Favorite Things: Pretty Little Liars

Have you guys been watching Pretty Little Liars? If not, I’m on a personal mission to get people to look beyond that it’s on ABC Family and check it out. I’m not quite sure why it’s on ABC Family because PLL is straight up scary and borderline inappropriate at times (hot for teacher? teenage murder plots? filming girls doing who knows what?). Either way, I’m obsessed.

After a couple just so-so episodes (Plot and style-wise), things are getting crazy bananas again and I am counting down until tonight’s episode.

To get you ready for the madness, here’s a look back at a couple of last week’s looks.

Jeans: DL1961

Earrings: Marc Jacobs
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff

My partner in PLL crime, Cara, wasn’t really digging this colorful look but I love the mix (mostly because my girl Hannah can do no wrong in my eyes).

I was hoping to feature a little more of the other Liars lately but I haven’t personally been into what they’ve been wearing lately (did you see Spencer’s high heeled doc martens?). Here’s hoping tonight provides a little more material to feature!

Spoiler Alert: But mostly, let’s hope tonight we get to the bottom of this Maya Murder Mystery!

Dress Code: Day to Night

Last week I saw a tweet from Lynzy at Sparkling Footsteps looking for an addition to her collaborative Dress Code features. I jumped at the opportunity to put together a look alongside both Lynzy and Kim from Penny Pincher Fashion. I’ve read both of their blogs for a while so I’m excited to be included in the third edition of Dress Code(see one & two), a Day to Night look.

I love how each of our looks are perfect for different summer day-to-night transitions. Each keep it simple but chic.

For my look I focused on this cobalt skirt that I am in love with right now. We’ve been going to tons of weddings this summer so for my look, I thought about going from work straight to a Friday night rehearsal dinner. For day, I kept it simple with a tee, flats and everyday bag. For night, I just switched out the shoes to some bright wedges and added a simple lace top & mint clutch.

Check out all the day-to-night details from the other girls here: Lynzy from Sparkling Footsteps & Kim from Penny Pincher Fashion

Mood Boards: Working on My Fitness

So here’s a little (not so) secret. I am mildly obsessed with Zumba. I’m going to go ahead and say that I’ve invited at least 50 people to come with me to Zumba classes. To date, I think I’ve had 5 or so accept – clearly my pitch isn’t working. Not everyone may be a fan but I’ve definitely hooked a few other friends.

While Zumba may not be your work out of choice (thankfully the place I go also offers other great classes), no matter what you’re doing to work on your fitness, it helps a little to look good while doing it. I think having a couple go-to workout ‘fits can help put a little pep in your step on days you’re not so motivated. I also think it’s a great place to rock the neon trend if you’re a little shy about working it into your regular wardrobe.

And with the Olympics starting tomorrow, I thought I’d throw in a little workout gear post. Watching all those amazing athletes definitely inspires me to get off the couch (that is AFTER watching them compete) and kick it up a notch.

p.s. – consider this your official invite to zumba. if you’re in louisville, come to sol fit. it’s right off westport rd. check out their full schedule here.
