Beauty: The Wink

Oct 7, 2015

Here’s a fun, and sufficiently embarrassing, fact: I am horrible at winking. Winking and whistling are two things I never quite mastered around age nine. I blame my parents… for my lack of coordination.

What does that have to do with anything, well nothing other than it’s the first thing I think about when I hear the word ‘wink’ and it also serves as a way to explain the pictures below. But more importantly, it’s the name of Clinique’s new website. I had a chance to do a post with Clinique earlier this year (love that three-step system) and after seeing the new marketing campaign (nerdy I know but it comes with the 9 to 5 job), I was excited to see what they put together for their new site.

The Wink is Clinique’s hub for all things beautiful – from the more obvious skin care and beauty posts to features on creative people like Gray Malin and Tavi Gevinson. It’s a fun mix of make-up tips and tutorials, profiles and health tips.

After spending some time on the site, I must say that this make-up challenged gal is pumped about the tutorials.I’ve been trying out Clinique’s Chubby Mascara – which I love – but I need to move beyond just the swipe of mascara before heading out the door. I’ve already bookmarked this ‘puppy dog eye‘ tutorial for my next night out.

Back to the mascara really quick, I’ve been loving it especially because of the pronged brush – so it pulls your lashes out making them look longer but also fans them out so they don’t look like clumpy eyelash triangles. Nobody wants clumpy eyelash triangles.

Oh and I also realized that I’ll never look this good in a jumpsuit.

Note: This post was sponsored by Clinique but all opinions, lack of winking skills and thoughts are my own.
