Beauty: Your Best Lashes in Three Steps

May 27, 2015

A few months back, on my trip to Charleston with Belk, I met Molly {A Piece of Toast.} Molly is awesome – personable, funny, smart and savvy. She is also has, hands down, the best lashes I have ever seen.

Seriously, within minutes of meeting her I was asking about her lashes. Were they extensions? Did she use Latisse? Was she just blessed with the long eyelash gene? I needed to know. Thankfully, she let me (and the rest of our group who were equally intrigued) in on her secret.

When I got home, I immediately ordered up her magic elixir. Now after trying it for a little more than a couple months, I can say that it works. I’m not quite at the lush, are they extensions? phase yet but I can tell a big difference in both the length and fullness. So I’m sharing the gospel with you.

If you’re already an avid fan of A Piece of Toast, you’ve likely read all about this but for those of you that haven’t, here’s the scoop.

1. neuLASH – I’ve tried Latisse. And I quit pretty quickly. It made my eye lids and under eyes dark, darker than they already are naturally. It also made my eyes water like crazy. This stuff, while pricey, does none of the above. It also lasts a really long time. I”m more than two months in and still have plenty.

It comes with a tiny brush and you apply a thin layer to the base of your lashes every night. After two months I can tell that my lashes are both longer and thicker. They don’t quite have that fabulous natural curl but for someone with deep set eyelids, just a little extra length is huge. Tip: Don’t give up because you don’t see results in the first couple weeks. It takes time.

2. Givenchy Mister Lash Booster I think in Molly’s post on her regimen she mentions using this morning and night. I only use it at night mostly because I’m in too much of a hurry in the mornings to remember.

Just twist the tube and the serum comes out so that you can apply it directly to your lash line. It’s a miracle worker in keeping your lashes from falling out. I would normally wake up to find a few lashes under my eyes but lately I’ve noticed that I rarely ever have lashes fall out overnight. Less lashes falling out = denser and longer lashes.

And don’t let the brand name scare you, this is really reasonably priced and lasts (i’m still using my first tube).

3. Estee Lauder Little Black Primer – We got a sample of this courtesy of Belk and I fell in love fast. It’s perfect for those days when you just want to apply a little bit of concealer, a swipe of blush and some mascara. Dark enough to let your lashes stand out and effective enough to give them a little length while keeping it really natural.

When I’m going for the full face of make-up, I’ll apply this underneath my regular mascara to help separate and lengthen lashes. It gets them all in the right place before you apply a heavier mascara, perfect for helping eliminate clumps.

Still not convinced? Just check out the reviews for each product. Just remember that if you try the neuLASH, you’ve got to keep using it consistently for at least a month to see results. But if you do, I’m sure you’ll start to notice a big difference. Anyone else tried out this combo?

  1. […] my lashes look. I literally stare at myself and think ‘Are those really my lashes?’ I love NeuLash but I’ve been slacking on reordering it. This stuff makes me reconsider buying it every time […]
