Derby Dress of the Day: For the Winner’s Circle Suites

Apr 18, 2016

Keeping it short and sweet to kick off the week. Sorry – it’s just been one of those days!

Today’s look can work for a variety of places but I picked it for the Winner’s Circle Suites which are a relatively new area of Churchill Downs. I think this is it’s second or third year of existence and it’s a fun way to be up close and right in the middle of the outdoor action while also having access to seats, your own bar area and food. Plus, food and drink are included in the cost of your ticket – I’ve {obviously} never been but it sounds like a pretty great way to go to the track for your first time. Feels like a way to really get a taste of the environment right on the track with all the amenities of some of the upstairs areas.

More Floral Options:

I love the graphic floral print on this dress and the fact that you can go really bright – think pinks, greens or yellows – with your hat or go a more refined, simple route. And since I know there’s a variety of comfort levels when it comes to shoes – I’ve paired it with three options (high, higher and really high). The lace-ups are gorgeous but if you’re looking for something a little more comfortable, the stacked Schutz cork heels are so cute and will be a great summer shoe. I also love the slightly lower pair that lace up the ankle. Whichever pair you pick – I still recommend throwing a pair of flip flops or fold-up flats in your bag for the walk to your car/ride post-race.
