Derby Dress of the Day: Simple Stripes

Apr 16, 2014

Popping in this morning with a quick post since I’ve got to run and take care of some stuff at the “real” job.

Today’s look is a simple, stripe one for the track. Sometimes it’s all about the hat but if you’re going early in the week or are going to the paddock and don’t want to mess with a big hat (or if you just don’t want to mess with a big hat period), this headband may be right up your alley. And this Leona stripe ‘Eve’ dress is great because you can wear it with or without the straps – making it very versatile for all kinds of spring/summer events.

My adorable pal Cailtin modeled it for a more casual day at the track. Pair it with wedges if you’re going to be walking around like we did last year when we braved the paddock in the rain. Speaking of rain, this Headcandi headpiece would be especially well suited for a rain day because it won’t wilt (no pun intended) or weigh you down in the rain (it will also fit perfectly under a poncho). I love letting the ribbon hang down but you may want to tuck it in if you’re afraid of losing it in the Derby chaos.
