Five I’ve Tried: It Cosmetics Edition

Sep 26, 2016

Okay, so it’s been a while but I’m coming back at ya with another Five I’ve Tried beauty round-up, this time filled entirely with It Cosmetics products. These beauty posts have become my favorite because Sephora, and just about every beauty counter from Walgreens to Saks, is vast and the products are both too many and too pricey to try out before committing.

Also, is it me or are the people writing copy for beauty products some of the best in the game? It takes them two vague promises of better, brighter skin and I’m hunting them down online determined that this will be the ultimate cure to some skin problem I didn’t even know I had.

Anyways, today’s five are all from It Cosmetics which was a total unknown to me until a couple weeks ago when they hooked us all up with some products to try at The Blog Societies conference. That’s where I got my hands on their Makeup Melting Balm which I am obsessed with (check out the full review here). I’ve recently been trying out their new Color-Infused Skincare line and have been really happy with just about everything I’ve tried.

The line was developed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists and you can tell by the way a little goes a long way and how easily the products go on. There’s definitely some that I love more than others so my top five are below. The good part, you can now find all these exclusively at Sephora, they launched earlier this month both online and in stores. Next time you stop in, ask for samples of these. I’m guessing you’ll come back for at least one.

It Cosmetics Beauty Review
* It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer: I’ve tried a million and one primers. The ones I like always have two things in common: they go on smooth and they aren’t chalky/opaque/too thick. This one nails it in both categories. You also don’t need to use a ton for full coverage. A pea size amount works for your full face and lays a great base for your makeup. I’m not totally sure if it’s making my pores look smaller but I do think it makes my make up go on more even – so there’s that.
Grade: B+
Only giving it a B+ because it is a little pricey for a primer, but like I said, a little goes a long way so I may be using this tube for the rest of the year. If that ends up being the case, I’ll come back and update this grade.
Would I buy again?  Probably but again, it will be based on how long this tube lasts.

*It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream: This stuff is the deal. I am obsessed. Foundation is pretty tricky for me since I can’t seem to ever find the perfect shade with good coverage. I haven’t quite found the perfect shade with this one – I combine the light and medium – but the coverage is awesome. Again, a generous pea size (is that an oxymoron?) amount is all I need to get full coverage on my entire face. And when I say full coverage, I don’t mean in that television anchor way. I mean a nice, natural and most importantly, even finish. It feels great, not heavy and has SPF 50.

I’ve been using the same two tubes for almost six weeks and still have a ton left. Love it.

Grade: A+
Would I buy again? Yes. Planning on it.

*It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Full Coverage Concealer: When they say this is an illuminating concealer, they are not playing around. A little dab of this brightening concealer and it looks like you’ve gotten 10 good hours of sleep. It covers darkness, redness and any sallow color while also making it look like a professional lighting crew just set up in your bathroom. To be honest, at first I was caught a little off guard by how well a tiny dot worked. And I mean a tiny dot, put too much of this stuff on and you will immediately regret it.

If you’re thinking of giving it a go (and I think you should) go for one shade darker than you think. I originally tried the light and have recently made the switch to medium which looks much more natural.

Grade: A
Would I buy again? Yes but I don’t foresee needing another tube anytime soon. Seriously the smallest dab covers both eyes.

* It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Cream: This is tied for my favorite of the bunch with the Confidence in a Cream. This eye cream is more like a gel and is so cooling. I almost prefer to use it in the mornings to nights since it de-puffs and wakes you up. I’ve noticed though that I wake up with less puffiness and the dark spots in the corners of my eye seem a little lighter. Who knows if that’s actually the case but I like it take it that it’s working. Plus, a lot of eye creams come in the teeny tiniest containers. This one is a good size so you won’t need to order more in two to three weeks.

Grade: A+
Would I buy again? Yes.

*It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream: I am in love, obsessed, totally committed to this moisturizing cream. It’s thick but not sticky, moisturizing but goes on matte and I just love it. It’s one where you put it on and it just feels fancy. This was one of the products I tried where I could tell this was created by pros. It has the feel of a medical/spa brand.

You can’t see it but this tub is completely empty. Again, a little dab will do you but I have used this so religiously since I got it that I ran out pretty quick. I’m actually about to order another one since it’s now available online.

If you only try one thing from It Cosmetics, make it this cream. It’s my, hands down, favorite. I just wish it came in a bigger container. Seriously I would use it as a lotion if I could, that’s how great it is.

Grade: A+++
Would I buy again? Yes, I am about to order more right now.

  3. I am OBSESSED with the Bye Bye Makeup Balm. I didn’t try all of these products, simply because my mom raided by It bag from TBScon and took most of these. I’m definitely going to have to purchase some of my own!
