Derby is just as much about the parties as it is about the race. And while some of the biggest parties are the night before, there are now more than enough to keep your social calendar full for the entire week – starting with the Derby Museum Gala and Lounge on Friday, April 28th.
The Derby Museum Gala is a full-on, fancy pants soiree benefitting the Kentucky Derby Museum but for those of us who like to skip some of the formality and go right to the fun, there’s the Derby Museum Gala Lounge. It starts at 10 pm and includes all the good stuff – dancing, drinks and desserts. And the best part, I’ve got two tickets for one of you! More on that in a second though.

First off though, the clothes. I love me a good party dress so I picked out a few for the evening’s fun. I’m thinking I may snag this one since I love the emerald green alternative to the standard little black dress. Pair it with some standout sandals and call it a night. Everything revolves around Derby–the people, the clothing, the knowing we won’t be working quite as much, the numerous events, the excitement… it just goes into that great Derby spirit!
