Derby Dress a Day: For the Grandstands

Mar 30, 2015

You know I couldn’t go too long without sharing some stripes for the Derby.

I’m loving this preppy Eliza J Fit and Flare option for a day in the grandstands. If you’ve got first or second floor grandstand tickets, you have access to the first and second floors (as well as roaming the paddock) but your seat isn’t in a box but bleacher seats. These are on the more affordable side (as affordable as it gets when it comes to Derby) but also give you a chance to see the races.

Because of the crowds though and the need to navigate around people, I paired this number with an array of Jack Rogers. It’s just easier to wear flats in this section since you’re sure to be doing a bunch of walking and there’s a big chance you’ll end up wanting to stand on the bleachers when the big race goes off. You wouldn’t want to take a tumble because of a heel falling off the edge.

Go with this number and you’ll be comfortable, not spend a fortune (it’s under $150) and have tons of hat options. You’ll also have a great summer dress that works as well for outdoor weddings as it does for a Fourth of July bbq or baby shower.
