Derby Dress of the Day: For an Outdoor Box

Talking Derby to you all today from the beach (!!!) where we are planning to soak up a little sun before braving another 10-hour drive home with three small monsters (so.many.bathroom breaks).

Now that we are officially in April, I am going to do my best to get up a new Derby Dress of the Day everyday. And … { drum roll please } I finally got the Kentucky Derby Shopping section up! It’s got tons of Dress options plus one section full of dresses under $150. I’ll be updating options daily so be sure to check back often. In full disclosure, I do make a tiny (like usually under $5) amount if you click on one of my links and purchase something from the site you’re directed to (that goes for all the links). If you like this Derby series, I would be super appreciative of your using my links when you’re shopping for dresses, especially if you grab one of my picks. Keeping it real for you all.

On to the dress of the day. This flowy number (that’s only $155) would be great for an outdoor box. If you’re sitting anywhere outside, but especially if you’re in an uncovered area, you’re going to be in the sun. So you’re going to want to slather on the sunscreen and wear something that you’ll stay cool in all day. This option has all the makings of a great Derby Dress – bold colors, interesting details – but also is flowy enough to keep you from burning up outside.

Pair it with wedges. You’re going to be doing a lot of walking so you’ll want a pair that can last you 6 hours or more on your feet. I’ve given you a few options based on price (the far left pair are from Target!) and heel height (I’m guessing not everyone will be comfortable in the far right pair but I LOVE them).
