Kentucky Derby Style: Black Lace Romper

Apr 20, 2015

This romper was way too cute for just one gal to wear so both Shannon and Kristen took this number for a spin. I’m as fully committed to the romper trend as someone who can’t wear one (my torso is too long, makes for a pretty unsightly look) can be.

And while most of the rompers out are a little more on the casual side, this Alexis lace option from Circe is fancy enough for a night out or styled up for the races. Yes, I am advocating wearing a romper to the Derby. And yes, it’s a little high-maintenance when you have to use the Ladies, but if you’re sitting anywhere inside, you’re all good. Just bring a friend to help with zipping you back up.

Seriously though, I don’t recommend picking a romper if you’re going to be sitting anywhere outside at the track. Those bathroom lines can be BRUTAL (and depending on the time, a little unsightly) and the last thing you want to be is the girl holding up the line cause you can’t get back in to your fit.

I really love this look for a Derby eve party. Just ditch the headpiece and hit up one of the late night parties that are happening all over town on Friday night. You could even wear Shannon’s complete look to the Oaks and just leave the fascinator in the car for dinner and late night fun.

Keeping it short and sweet because my Derby to-do list is growing by the second but I’ll be popping in later with somer Dress of the Day options, by request, for gals heading to the backside of the track.
