Kentucky Derby Style: Classic Combination

Apr 15, 2018

Nothing like a rainy weekend to up your productivity. My kids may be going stir crazy but I am taking care of business. Hey, sometimes they win the weekend and sometimes I do, this one was for me. They went to Disney World a week ago so I feel like they owe me.

As much as I love a totally over the top Derby look, I live for the classics and this pink + navy color combo is one that i’ll always fall for. This fabulous fascinator is another Jill Courtemanche Millinery piece and it’s oh so lovely. If you didn’t want to go all navy, you could add a few simple feathers or a flower to punch it up with some color. I know Jill is happy to customize a piece for you, so drop her a note and she’ll whip you up what you want.

I feel like I’ve been sharing a lot of Oaks looks but this dress was so much more fun in pink than the black option. It’s light, breezy and under $150 (and it’s an extra 40% off today). It’s also not too short which I know is key for a lot of the ladies out there. I tend to steer more towards an above the knee dress but I know some people like to go for something a little longer, so this is a perfect option.

I think this dress is another one that can be dolled up or down depending on where you’re sitting at the track. If you’re in the first floor clubhouse, you could wear it with platform espadrilles (these are 25% off today) and a wicker bag but if you’re going to the Turf Club or the Skye Terrace you could go with some standout heels and a fun clutch.
