Outfit Post: Big Blue Bloggers

Mar 21, 2014

You guys – this weekend is my absolute favorite.

My love for the tournament is a little ridiculous and the amount of brackets I fill out is equally absurd, but I can’t help it – I love love love it. Thankfully, that sentiment is shared by most of the bluegrass state so yesterday as the NCAA Tournament kicked off, productivity around here slowed to a crawl. After a day filled with upsets and big wins, today is finally the day my love, the Kentucky Wildcats, take the floor. Unfortunately, my Cats got the short end of the stick when it came to seeding and game time – 9:45 p.m. tonight – so I’m ready for a long (and anxiety filled) day waiting for tip.

In the mean time, I’ve paired up with some fellow Cats fans and Kentucky alums on a big blue madness post. I’m pretty excited about this collaboration since I adore all of these gals – a couple of whom I knew before they started their blogs – and it’s a lot of fun to finally link up with all of them. If you’re not already following them, add them to your reader STAT.

The tournament is also known as Big Dance and this is my Cats party dress. Last weekend, when the Cats were taking the floor against Georgia, I was sitting at a wedding sporting my game day colors. It used to be a lot harder to find the right color but lately Kentucky blue (otherwise known to the world as Cobalt) has been everywhere – so whenever I find a great item in the right color, I grab it up.

I won’t be wearing this tonight when the Cats take on Kansas St. (it will be more like Kentucky sweatpants) but I’ll definitely be wearing it again to show my school pride at summer and fall weddings. P.S. – You can probably tell from the pleats popping out but this isn’t a maternity dress. It’s made of a great, thick, stretchy cotton though so it worked with the bump for now and will hopefully, be just as cute post-bump.

Blue & Black Stripe Dress: Banana Republic (on sale + an extra 30% off with code BRSPRING30); Cobalt Blue Heels: c/o Sole Society (no longer available but these are the same great color and on sale!); Pink Stripe Clutch: c/0 Sole Society (old – seen here)
