Outfit Post: Bloggers Who Budget – Fall Trends

Aug 24, 2015

Weekends shouldn’t be for cleaning out your closet but lately I feel like I’ve spent some time editing and organizing every weekend. My main goal is to make getting ready easier but the other goal is to avoid (or minimize) the never-ending pile of clothes to put away after furiously trying 10 different things on every day.

Over my next few outfit posts (with one bright exception tomorrow), I’m going to do a “connect the dots” type series. Each post will connect to the previous one through one piece. I’m keeping it pretty basic and using the same items on repeat. Not quite a capsule collection but kinda. I’m thinking at the end, I’ll layout everything together so you can see it all at once. Most of my favorite outfits are the ones that involve mixing and matching from my old and new favorites so we’ll see what you all think. Also, if you’re in the Louisville area and need help cleaning out your closet – give a girl a shout. I may procrastinate cleaning out my own closet but I find an odd pleasure in helping others clean out theirs.

So to get things started it’s a big blue Monday. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, I gravitate towards all things blue. When I found these navy booties last fall it was like someone had finally answered my boot prayers (okay that’s a lot dramatic but you get it). Navy booties, yes please. With fall creeping up on us, I’ve moved my booties back to the front of my closet to get them ready for near constant wear. Since I couldn’t wait to wear them, I paired them with this bright blue mini (perfect for work and play) and lightweight plaid button down.

Since it’s a Bloggers Who Budget Monday and I know we’re all on a budget, both are under $75 (this shirt is an extra 30% off now too). They are the closet staples that I’ll be reaching for time and time again from now until winter. Think skirt with sweater and boots or with a tee and leather moto jacket; Button down with distressed denim and booties, or with navy pants and heels for work. I’m just getting started here…
