Outfit Post: Bluegrass

Aug 4, 2014

It may be time to head back to work but you won’t find any work clothes on the blog today (unless you’ve got a seriously laid back work environment – and if so, you go glen coco). Instead we’re getting super local since I’m teaming up with my gal Grace in a tee from Shop Local Kentucky.

I stumbled upon the Shop Local Kentucky crew through Instagram and have been keeping up with their mission to bring local, Kentucky-made goods, to the masses via the internets. It’s a beautiful bluegrass thing they’re doing. Basically showcasing the products of local merchants and artists throughout the state on their website. They realized that the shop local movement was a great one but why not take it to a state level. And since Kentucky people are obsessed with Kentucky, I’m sure the endeavor will be a successful one.

Oh and if you’re making cool stuff and you live in Kentucky, give them a shout. They’re looking for merchants to work with and showcase on the site.

Grace and I got this bluegrass tee designed by Thirsty Hearts (based in Lexington) to style up and it looks like we both opted out of the basic jeans and t-shirt and instead paired our tee with a skirt. But while she went the fancier route, I’m sure you’re surprised to see I went with stripes and my trusty Supergas (love ’em so much). I also had to go all blue everything since when I think Kentucky, I think Kentucky blue.

Want to get one of your own? Head over to theKYshop.com to browse all their Kentucky made gear.

Head over here to see Grace’s full look.
