Outfit Post: Boucle Bump

Apr 10, 2014

I’m interrupting Derby dresses (very momentarily) for a quick bump in the road (sorry that was way cheesy, I can’t help it sometimes).

So I’m still pregnant. 42 days and counting. Honestly, if you asked me how many hours/minutes/seconds I had left, I could probably tell you. Have I mentioned that I’m ready for this to be over yet? I know I shouldn’t complain but I have officially entered the dog days of pregnancy. I’m a giant, the acne is uncontrollable and the amount of things that fit decreases exponentially by the day. On the other hand, I’m still woefully unprepared for baby Reese to actually be here. The preparation to-do list still has way too many unchecked boxes – so I guess I’ll just have to hang in there (May 22nd can’t come soon enough). You’d think I’d be doing a better job my second time around but not so much.

On to the outfit, I bought three pairs of these ZARA leggings (navy, black and gray) way back at the beginning of this ride and they have been serious lifesavers. A week hasn’t gone by where I haven’t broken out at least one pair. They’re not maternity but the placement of the elastic on them made them perfect as I got bigger. They may be finally entering the end of their wear these last few weeks but they were, by far, the best $33 (a piece) I spent over the course of this pregnancy.

Thankfully these Banana Republic basics have also made a great transition from regular wear to maternity wear. And by transition, I mean they still fit. That being said, I’m definitely not against investing in some good maternity basics – especially now that they are getting to be some of the only things that fit.

p.s. – I’ll be back on the Derby train tomorrow and I’ll be posting a Dress of the Day later this afternoon!
