Outfit Post: Flare Up

Feb 9, 2015

Did the Grammy’s keep you all up past your bedtime last night too? As much as it pained me to turn the lights off before Beyonce took the stage, I had to do it. That’s what the internet is for right? I mean that’s basically how I enjoy all of the fabulous that happens on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (that Saved by the Bell sketch – so good).

In the rock n’ roll spirit of the Grammy’s, I’m breaking out the flares again. A long, long time ago I saw this picture on Pinterest and became OBSESSED. I needed to have this pair of jeans. Of course I found them (on Gilt) when I was 8+ months pregnant but that extra poundage didn’t stop me from hitting the ‘buy now’ button. The end was in sight and I, incorrectly, assumed I’d be able to hop into these bad boys in no time.

That obviously wasn’t the case and I’ve debated whether I should sell them ever since. I was about to finally give in and get rid of them but couldn’t resist trying them on one last time. And then it happened, they fit. Cue the ‘ta-da’ music and picture me doing a happy dance in my closet. Yeah it’s as sad/embarrassing as you imagine it. These are definitely more summer-y jeans (and I can’t wait to wear them like this) but I couldn’t help breaking them out when the temperatures jumped up.

Chances I break these out in a week or so for the Fleetwood Mac concert: 100%

p.s. – When it comes to flared denim, I am pretty much a J Brand devotee. The Love Story style is my favorite. Local Louisville gals can try them up at Clodhoppers (they usually have them).

Oversized Sweater: Forever 21; White T-Shirt: American Eagle Outfitters (such a great white tee!); White Washed Flared Jeans: J.Brand (old pair but I’ve linked other favorites below); Necklace: Forever 21; Boots: Madewell

  1. I stayed up to watch Queen B, of course, but definitely had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. Well worth it though! I wish guys could pull of flares like the girls do, love the 70s vibes.
