Outfit Post: Patterned for Spring

Me, you and everyone else in the continental United States is ready for spring (even those charmed individuals in Florida, Texas and California).

The thing is, spring’s not quite ready for us. In an attempt to deal with the up and down temperatures, I’ve been dressing in layers. But rather than just a tee and cardigan (which I do love), I’ve tried to infuse some bright colors {and patterns} into my layering.

This may be a little much for some people but I’ve resolved to try and be a little less basic this spring. Obviously I love stripes (you may have seen yesterday’s love letter to them), a sneak of bright gingham check and a dash of leopard. I snagged these oxfords on sale a couple weeks back and have had them in heavy rotation ever since.

Tonight me and some gals from work are heading to the Westport Village Spring Fashion Show. I’m looking forward to getting some Derby inspiration. If you’re in Louisville, check out the details here and stop by if you’re free – cocktails & clothes on a Wednesday doesn’t sound too bad.

Stripe tee: Stylemint (worn here); Gingham Button Down: J.Crew – on sale now!  (last seen here);  Vest: Old Navy; Necklace: BaubleBar (sold out but i love this one); Denim: BDG; Leopard Oxfords: Dolce Vita (on sale now!); Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters; Watch: Michael Kors (similar); Leather Tote: Banana Republic (love it here in some fun spring colors)

  1. I love the combo of the stipes and gingham! And thanks for posting the link to that shirt…I’ve been searching for a pink gingham shirt and this one is on double sale!!

PS…I tried to follow you by RSS feed instead of email, but I got a really weird error instead of the normal RSS page. I don’t know if its my computer, but thought I would let you know so you could check it out. :-)

  2. I love this so much. I am wearing this pink shirt right now, but without the stripes over it and I wish I had thought of this. Really cute. I will try this next time!
