Here’s hoping you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I took a little break {from work and blogging} to head to Austin for my best pal Kelly’s Bachelorette Party. All in all it was an amazing weekend which can basically be perfectly summed up with this picture.
I wore a variation of the outfit below for one of our night’s out in Austin – just swapped the peplum for a t-shirt – and I’m sure I’ll be wearing variations of it all summer long.
Side note: I found all three pieces (jacket, shorts, top) at Forever 21. Love that place and mostly the challenge of the hunt.
I thought I couldn’t get on the peplum train but this shirt has become a new favorite. I love how each of these pieces can be combined with other items in my closet for more causal looks. Not sure I’ll be rocking the shorts to work (my office attire is pretty lax but I not quite this lax) but I love that I can wear them with a t-shirt or tank for a summer bbq or they can be dressed up for a night out or paired like this for a shower or brunch.
p.s. – please pardon the ponytail. still trying to figure out this short hair.

I usually get a size up at forever 21 in pants/shorts. I think these are a medium or a large (i’ll check). My method is to tackle the store and try on as much stuff as possible.
