Outfit Post: We Got Some Canes Over Here

Oct 31, 2013

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Okay so you’re probably wondering what the H I’m talking about. That’s understandable.

I don’t usually get into my rapid fan obsession over here but today, I’m making an exception. See this Saturday is the Florida State vs. Miami football game and for the first time in probably like 10 years, both teams are ranked in the top ten. Clearly I’m pretty hype about it.

A lot of you probably know I am a die-hard Kentucky fan and while my Wildcat obsession has been know to drive me off the deep end, my dedication to the ‘Canes is equally ridiculous. Growing up in Miami, we had season tickets and I’m pretty sure there was stretch between 1998 and 2002 where I didn’t miss a single home game. It’s a problem. So much so that when Miami played Florida earlier this year, my husband and son had to leave the house (mostly to avoid me teaching my son too many four letter words). Last time these two teams were both marginally good, I was afraid of getting a noise complaint in our condo. Things can get a little weird.

Now that I’ve confessed that I’m a total freak, we’ll move on.

A little rivalry and trash talking (hey you can’t help it when its UM vs. FSU) never hurt anyone so I teamed up with my gal (but not on Saturday) Nikki at Bedazzles After Dark to showcase a little game day style with the help of State Traditions.I’ve been a big fan of the brand for a while so I was pumped to add the Miami hat to my game day gear. Nikki and I have been itching to do a collaboration together for a while so when this opportunity showdown came around, I knew we had to divide and conquer.  Now I just wish that sweater came in hunter green.

I don’t have a ton of green and orange gear so I took my inspiration from the ‘86 Canes and added a little camo to my ‘fit. Otherwise, I kept it pretty basic. Easier to yell and jump around in.

Go Canes!

Clearly I kept it more causal but how fab does Nikki look (other than the fact that she is obviously in the wrong colors)? p.s. sorry for the dark pics. the weather here has been totally uncooperative for photos.

  2. You look GREAT!! I love the touch of camo and you totally pull off the jeans/sneakers outfit. I cannot wear that without looking like an awkward 5th grader 😉
