Outfit Post: Work Shirt

Jun 29, 2015

This weekend was about as jam packed as it could possibly be. I’m making a bigger effort to say ‘yes’ to opportunities (and then find the babysitter to make it possible) rather than reverting to my normal home-body self.

It started with saying yes (and not pawning it off on someone else) to filling in for my colleague at the Stout Burgers & Beer soft opening. It officially opens today (June 29th) at 11:30 am. If you live in the Highlands, you need to walk on over there ASAP to grab a burger. And if you’re not in the Highlands, you need to make plans to head that way soon to check it out. I tried the chicken burger with rosemary bacon and it was delicious. I also drooled over everyone else’s order while eating up my friend’s sweet potato fries. Work plug: nothing on the menu is over $13, they have 30 craft beers on tap and beyond the food and great beers – the setting is really cool. Definitely make a note to try it soon.

Spent all day Saturday at a tennis tournament (we were THIS close to winning it – such a bummer!) and then hit up the pool on Sunday followed by a trip to Midway for the Original Makers Club Dinner Series at Holly Hill Inn. Expect a full recap from that deliciousness later this week. Side note: if you want to follow along on all these random shenanigans + see pics of my kiddos, follow me on Snapchat

Anyways, now it’s back to work and I’m in a variation of the outfit below. This chambray shirt is a work horse for me. Goes from work to play and back again more times than should be allowed. I’ve paired it with these LOFT joggers at four times in the last month. I know, that’s pretty sad but sometimes getting ready in the morning is more challenging than it should be. Last but not least, I found these earrings for $8!!! at H&M and I’ve gotten so many compliments on them. Easily the best $8 I’ve spent in the last month.

You all watching The Bachelorette tonight? It’s about to GET REAL. Cannot wait.

Thanks Jackie! Yeah, sometimes it’s just easier to stick with the basics and yeah, you definitely cannot go wrong with a button down.

  5. Jam packed weekends are fun, but also rough to come out of when it’s time to start your week. Hope you made it out most unscathed!
