Shopping: Girly Fun at Ribbons & Rags

Nov 3, 2011

Earlier this week, I escaped the daily grind for an hour at Ribbons & Rags in Norton Commons. The sweet & so friendly Meghan Roppel started the store three years ago with her mom. The two were new to the boutique game but you’d never know it from inviting & stylish store to their amazing selection of girly dresses, coats, skirts and basics.

I mentally added about 10 things to my shopping “to-do” list and vowed to return for a fun cocktail dress & a to-die-for faux fur jacket. If you are looking for a fun party dress, frilly basics or some stand out jewelry, take a trip out to Norton Commons (which is ridiculously cute in a Stepford kind of way) and stop in to see Meghan.

I’ve included some of my favorites from my {window} shopping trip. Just going through the pictures reminded me of all the items I want to head back for. Meghan and I threw out some fun ideas for future posts so I hope to share more fabulousness from them soon.

Until then… Enjoy!

First off, how cute are the hangers? Love those bows. Second, this wall of polka dots and patterns had me at hello. I am a sucker for a polka dot and was tempted to snag all of these in my size (FYI – They don’t carry tons of every item so you can be sure you won’t see your twin at a party).

I loved all the accessories Ribbons & Rags had tucked into every nook & cranny. There were headbands, fascinators, bracelets, earrings, clutches, purses, scarves and everything else you could want to jazz up an outfit. I was digging these ribbon bracelets and can imagine adding them to an armful of bracelets & bangles.

Here are a few of my favorite items. I wanted to grab both of these skirts which could be dressed up with a sparkly blouse, dressed down with a tee or paired with a blazer for work. Last but most definitely not least, that white faux fur coat had my name on it. I am obsessed. I think I tried it on four times in the 45 minutes I was there.

If you haven’t been to Norton Commons, you need to head out Brownsboro Road and check out the adorable neighborhood and while you’re there drop in and see Meghan. I’m sure she’ll make you a cup of coffee and find you something fabulous.
