Shopping: Going Green.

Happy Leap Day!

For me leap day means one extra day between me and my favorite month of the year – March. On my favorite day of the year – March 17 – all things that are good converge: my birthday, the NCAA Tournament and St. Patrick’s Day. So to get the official countdown underway and leap into March, here’s a bunch of green loveliness.

Bows & Polka Dots

Not going to lie, today’s outfit was built around wearing these heels that I bought a couple months back but still hadn’t worn. I loved the bow detailing but never quite found anything that worked (you may even argue this doesn’t but oh well!). Lately a few of my favorite bloggers have been busting our their pointy toe heels so I thought I’d give it a go. Still need to master the best time/place for my photos so bear with me! (Time especially since my jeans got a little baggy/saggy.)

This polka dot blouse is one of my go-to’s and is vintage from my step, step-grandma (yup, people have those. my step-dad’s step-mom). And this necklace is a recent etsy score that I’ve been excited to share. My favorite part of the shoes is the bow detail on the back so I’m glad this look shows them off.

Style Spotting: Oscar Inspiration

Happy Monday friends. I’m back after a few days spent in sunny Mexico. I’ll be sharing a little from that trip later this week but wanted to start the week off with a little Oscar recap.

Not gonna lie, I’m a much bigger Golden Globes than Oscars fan (I just love TV – I can’t help it) but the fashion at the Academy Awards is definitely something that can’t be missed. I didn’t catch the show (I was stuck on a plane somewhere between Cancun and Kentucky) but I kept up with the dresses on twitter. I was a little disappointed with the lack of bold colors and really stand out looks but I still think there was a lot of amazing-ness out there.

Here are some of my favorites.

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli gown & Louis Vuitton jewels

I’m still not sure how I feel about the bow but I absolutely love the color on her. It’s also no surprise that Emma Stone & Kristen Wiig were two of my favorites since I have girl crushes on both of them.

Natalie Portman in Dior Haute Couture (circa 1954) gown with Harry Winston jewels.

Is there even a question of whether I would have loved this dress. Two words: polka dots.

I know a lot of people loved Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Michelle Williams and Gwenyth Paltrow’s looks but they weren’t my favorites (although I did love the green on Viola Davis). For more pictures, head over here.
Sorry for the recap post today. I’ll be back on my game tomorrow.

Until then, who rocked your favorite Oscar dress?
