Shopping: The Fifth Watches

I’ve been a bit of a slave to my Fitbit for the last year or so and as much as I love it, I do miss wearing a real watch. So when the shame of not hitting my step goal became a daily reality thanks to lugging around this baby, I decided a switch was in order. Enter The Fifth Watches.

The sleek, chic and classic yet modern watches were just what I needed for a break from the step counting. Here’s the catch though, The Fifth Watches only go on sale on the 5th day of the month for five days. You can order one during that time but if you miss the cut-off, you’ll have to wait until the next month to get your order in.

I fell in love with the simple rose gold with a pale pink strap option and snagged it during the April sale. I’ve been sporting it ever since and counting down the days until I could share it over here. Didn’t want to give out all the details only for you not to be able to order it.

The price point on these pretties is incredibly reasonable and it makes for a great last minute Mother’s Day gift (just print out one of their gorgeous instagram photos and slip it in a card).

Favorite Things: Special Delivery from Rocksbox

If you’re week has been anything like mine (aka hectic, filled with the flu, a tiny bit stressful), you’re going to appreciate today’s little pick me up. I’ve gushed about Rockbox before and after today you’ll have no excuse not to give it a try.

Here’s the run down: Each month Rocksbox sends you three, picked just for you, pieces of jewelry based on your personal style. Love statement necklaces – you can ask for them to send you three. Want to give midi rings a try with no commitment, let them know. They send you picks from designers like Loren Hope, Margaret Elizabeth, House of Harlow, Gorjana and Slate; you wear them for as little or as long as you like; when you’re done you pack them up, send them back and get three more to try. And if you fall in love with a piece, you can buy it for 20% off. Just like Birchbox or other subscription services, you just pay a monthly fee (it’s $19).

I tend to be kind of finicky when it comes to accessories. Love something and wear it constantly for a few weeks and then get bored, so this service is perfect for me.

Now here’s the part where your day gets better. Rocksbox is giving you a chance to try it out for a month for free. Just head over here and use code ‘daniellexoxo’ when you sign up. Once you fill out the style survey, your perfectly curated box will be arriving at your doorstep (and making your day) in no time.

Shopping + Events: Trifecta Sale at Dandelion Boutique

Derby is a little bit like grown-up prom. It’s not just about the dress – it’s about the whole look. You want to look great from head to toe, hats to accessories. So if you’ve figured out the dress situation but are still looking for the perfect finishing touches, mark your calendar for this Saturday April 19th.

You’ll want to hop out of bed and head over to Dandelion (3729 Lexington Road) for their 4th Annual Trifecta Sale. Combine any three accessories  – hats, scarves, jewelry, bags – and score 20% off. You can do three pieces of jewelry, a hat/bag/earrings combo, bag/necklace/earrings, you name it – just grab three items to save. I promise it won’t be hard to find three things you love and no worries about spending a fortune, the price points at Dandelion mean you can save or splurge.

It’s no secret I’m a big fan of the store (if you’ve received a gift from me in the last two years, chances are it’s from Dandelion) and they generously lent us a ton of great accessories for the Derby shoot. So here’s all the details on the sale and then I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites that you can score on sale this weekend.

Shopping: Hit the Trifecta at Dandelion

I’m going to let you in on a  {not so} little secret. I am super forgetful and a serious procrastinator. Like big time. This applies to most areas of my life including the one that includes preparing for big events.

So when I discovered the little gem called Dandelion right around the corner from my house, I was saved. Now whenever I need a last minute {birthday, housewarming, baby shower, wedding shower, wedding, etc} present, I hop in the car and in a 20 minute round trip (free of mall induced road rage) I am home with a perfectly wrapped, unique and pretty gift. This is usually accompanied by a new “gift” for myself.

The store is a perfectly curated collection of home accessories, jewelry (for days!), gifts (ceramic mason jar vases – yes please), bags, unique kids toys, beauty products and ladies accessories (I’m talking bags, clutches, scarves, sunglasses, head bands, and more). The variety of price points makes it easy to find something a little fancier for a special gift or just a new, fun piece of jewelry or scarf that won’t break the bank.

Andie at Dandelion must know that there are more girls like me out there who forget about things until the last minute and she’s prepared to help. This Saturday, April 27th they are hosting their Annual Trifecta Sale. The all day event is an opportunity to swing by and put the finishing touches on your Derby (or Oaks) ensemble. You’ll save 20% when you purchase a combination of any three jewelry, handbags and/or hats. After you see the massive collection of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings – you may just end up with three pieces of jewelry but I’ve got my eye on a satchel bag in the store that may need to come home with me as the perfect Summer runaround bag.

The team at Dandelion will be on hand to help you pick the perfect pieces. Bring in your dress and hat (if you’re on the ball and already have one) and they’ll find the perfect necklace to make your look stand out or find a clutch that goes “just so” with your look.

The store is located in the heart of St. Matthews in the Vogue Shopping Center. Right around the corner from Paper Source and across the patio from the Pie Kitchen (Perfectly located since I usually have to bribe my son with a cookie after spending so much time shopping).

I stopped in this past Saturday for a little preview and here’s some of the items that caught my eye. And yes, that is my son’s tiny hand holding an “I love bourbon” coaster. Even he’s ready for Derby!

Dandelion has statement necklaces for days. This is just a tiny snippet of their jewelry table which is massive. I especially love the beaded bib necklaces and the headbands. These are perfect if you’re not into hats but still want to do some sort of head piece. I also love them for gals heading to the infield or the backside.

Do you spy that tan cross body bag? That’s the pretty I’ve got my eye on along with the stripe and floral scarves.

Want to see more? Head over to the Dandelion Facebook page where you can do some online browsing of all their goodies.
