Shopping: Hit the Trifecta at Dandelion

I’m going to let you in on a  {not so} little secret. I am super forgetful and a serious procrastinator. Like big time. This applies to most areas of my life including the one that includes preparing for big events.

So when I discovered the little gem called Dandelion right around the corner from my house, I was saved. Now whenever I need a last minute {birthday, housewarming, baby shower, wedding shower, wedding, etc} present, I hop in the car and in a 20 minute round trip (free of mall induced road rage) I am home with a perfectly wrapped, unique and pretty gift. This is usually accompanied by a new “gift” for myself.

The store is a perfectly curated collection of home accessories, jewelry (for days!), gifts (ceramic mason jar vases – yes please), bags, unique kids toys, beauty products and ladies accessories (I’m talking bags, clutches, scarves, sunglasses, head bands, and more). The variety of price points makes it easy to find something a little fancier for a special gift or just a new, fun piece of jewelry or scarf that won’t break the bank.

Andie at Dandelion must know that there are more girls like me out there who forget about things until the last minute and she’s prepared to help. This Saturday, April 27th they are hosting their Annual Trifecta Sale. The all day event is an opportunity to swing by and put the finishing touches on your Derby (or Oaks) ensemble. You’ll save 20% when you purchase a combination of any three jewelry, handbags and/or hats. After you see the massive collection of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings – you may just end up with three pieces of jewelry but I’ve got my eye on a satchel bag in the store that may need to come home with me as the perfect Summer runaround bag.

The team at Dandelion will be on hand to help you pick the perfect pieces. Bring in your dress and hat (if you’re on the ball and already have one) and they’ll find the perfect necklace to make your look stand out or find a clutch that goes “just so” with your look.

The store is located in the heart of St. Matthews in the Vogue Shopping Center. Right around the corner from Paper Source and across the patio from the Pie Kitchen (Perfectly located since I usually have to bribe my son with a cookie after spending so much time shopping).

I stopped in this past Saturday for a little preview and here’s some of the items that caught my eye. And yes, that is my son’s tiny hand holding an “I love bourbon” coaster. Even he’s ready for Derby!

Dandelion has statement necklaces for days. This is just a tiny snippet of their jewelry table which is massive. I especially love the beaded bib necklaces and the headbands. These are perfect if you’re not into hats but still want to do some sort of head piece. I also love them for gals heading to the infield or the backside.

Do you spy that tan cross body bag? That’s the pretty I’ve got my eye on along with the stripe and floral scarves.

Want to see more? Head over to the Dandelion Facebook page where you can do some online browsing of all their goodies.

This post was sponsored by Dandelion boutique but all opinions and bad puns/jokes are my own. All sponsored posts reflect brands and stores that I already love and want to share with readers of Lou What Wear.

Shopping: Favorite {Accessory} Finds at the Shopbop Friends & Family Sale

If you are an avid fan of blogs, then I’m sure I’m not the first to tell you that Shopbop is having their Friends & Family sale now. So until the end of today you can save 20% with the code WEAREFAMILY on anything in their magnificent array of designer goodies. If you’ve had your eye on a bag, dress or killer pair of heels, now is the time to grab them since this sale only happens a couple times a year.

My favorite splurges are always accessories – bags, shoes & jewelry – you know, the items that really go the distance. Here’s what’s in my {fantasy} shopping cart right now.

Inspiration + Mood Board: Mint & Coral

It had been a while since I put together a little inspiration board and after seeing about Pretty Shiny Sparkly’s  Bloggers Do It Better Challenge on Jessica from Bows & Sequins’ blog, I thought I’d give the Mint & Coral challenge a go! Especially since the color combo is kind of making an appearance in own of my best friend’s upcoming weddings (although she’s leaning more towards turquoise I think).

Mint & coral may be a little too bold for some people to jump right into. So  rather than go for a whole outfit, I’ve thrown together some accessories options that give you a chance to try out the trend without committing to a bright skirt or pair of colored jeans (although, I love those options too!). The colors look great together or can set off a plain outfit (think jeans & a tee). You can also go bold and pair them with other bright colors. I’d love to see how you all are working these colors into your daily style so feel free to submit pics to danielle @ louwhatwear.com (spacing is intentional – trying to thwart spam!).

Hope you all have a fun weekend!

Shopping: Burried in Baubles

The perfect accessory can change any outfit. It can dress up jeans & a white t-shirt, add a bohemian feel or take your look from simple to glam. I love finding great accessories because you can wear them so many different ways and a good bauble will outlast trends. Here’s some of what I’m loving right now.

Michael Kors Jet Set Sport Watch
A classic. A simple gold watch will add a touch of class to even the plainest outfits. Find one you love and you’ll keep it forever.

BaubleBar Mint & Tangerine Teardrop Bib Necklace
There are tons of great bib necklaces out there, hunt any store & you’re sure to find one you love. I really love the fresh colors on these and the affordable price (only $34) making it not too hard to commit to the trend.

Dara Ettinger Felicia Stud Earrings
Simple studs are perfect for everyday and their size means that even with some sparkle, it’s not too much. I like how these are a twist on a classic diamond stud.

ASOS Hammered Double Cuffs
These cuffs are a great way to add a little edge to any outfit. Wear both for a symmetrical look or just go with one for simplicity.

Bauble Bar Femme Wishbone Pendant
Everyone needs a lucky charm. This wishbone in rose gold is pretty enough to stand on it’s own and simple enough to layer with a handful of chains.

Gorjana Parker Leather Wrap Bracelet
I love love love wrap bracelets especially this one’s pastel color and gold hardware. Perfect alone or in a giant stack.

House of Harlow 1960 Pyramid Station Necklace
A standout piece that makes a statement no matter what you where it wish.

I’m off to a wedding this weekend and plan on doing a ton of style spotting! Can’t wait to share the pictures next week.
