Outfit Post: Sunny Days

First things first, my thoughts, prayers and more go out to everyone affected by yesterday’s events. I can’t seem to wrap my head around why these tragedies continue to happen. I don’t think we’ll every truly understand it but we can all do our little part to help with healing. If you’re interested in making a donation to The Red Cross or Salvation Army, both organization do wonderful jobs on the ground with disaster relief. It seems trivial to be putting together a post after what happened but I think focusing on positivity is one of the ways we heal from these types of events. That and remembering all the people we love and are thankful for. It’s a shame that it takes events like this to reach out to people but I was like a social media hound dog hunting down one of my high school friends in Boston. And Lo, I’m really glad you are okay.

To put a sunny spin on this morning, I wanted to share this look from one of the brisk days last week. I love those days when it’s sunny outside but the air is just a tad bit cool. I threw on this Old Navy sweater (which I totally copied and bought after I saw Grace from Stripes + Sequins wearing it) with a bright colored pair of jeans. Just the right amount of spring in my step.

Sweater: Old Navy (so cozy and not too warm. perfect for summer nights thrown on with shorts); Mint Denim (previously seen here): LOFT (On Sale – 40% off now – no code needed); Leopard Oxfords: Dolce Vita

Outfit Post: Peachy Keen

Two outfit posts in a row, I know it’s out of character for me but I’m doing my best to document as much of my outfit inspiration challenge. It’s actually been a lot of fun trying to recreate looks from things I already own. Today’s outfit inspiration comes courtesy of Lucky Magazine’s February issue. I’ve read and reread it about a hundred times now and after seeing this look, I knew exactly what I could use in my closet to give it a try.

If you want to get a sneak peek at whats to come, you can check out my inspiration board on pinterest. I’m hoping to recreate each of these looks at some point this month. For today, I swapped out the green denim for a peachy-orange pair (they look more red than peach in these pics) and as much as I want the sweater in Lucky, I used a Forever 21 brown one I hadn’t worn in a while. Last but certainly not least, I had to show off my Christmas present from my man. A Coach purse wasn’t on my wish list but this ladylike bag is perfectly me. Navy – my favorite color – with a little touch of neon. I also love that the tassles can be removed if I get tired of the neon.

I’d love for you all to get in on the challenge. Send me some pics of your outfit inspiration looks!  Or tag me on Instagram (@louwhatwear) and use the hashtag #outfitinspo. I’ll showcase them on here at the end of the month.

p.s. – I’m trying to get to 600 likes on Facebook in January … if you’d head over and show a little love, I’d sincerely appreciate it!

Outfit Post: Sunny Days

Last week’s sunny, sweltering summer weather left me wishing I was spending my days outside instead of cooped up in my office. Thankfully on days I’m not in meetings with clients, we can be a little more laid back at work. So to bring the sunshine inside, I wore these yellow jeans and topped it with a jacket to make it more business casual appropriate.

Jacket & Top: Forever 21; Tank: J.Crew; Jeans: American Eagle; Watch: Michael Kors; Necklace: Peggy Li at Bottica; Sunglasses: Ray Ban (snagged from Beyond the Rack – similar here); Shoes: INC – Macy’s
