Required Reading: Rainy Day Reads

One of my favorite features that I’ve let fall by the wayside is my weekly link round-ups. I can’t guarantee that I’ll get back to doing them every single weekend but I’m gonna try.

Rainy weekends are kind of my favorite especially after hectic weeks. Last night I finally got to see Gone Girl and it definitely didn’t disappoint. So good. And you don’t need to have read the book to appreciate it. If you haven’t seen it yet, go. Rosamund Pike is the definition of crazy beautiful.

For the rest of the weekend, I’m looking forward to catching up on some shows, tackling a crazy massive laundry pile and dodging raindrops at a pumpkin patch (D3 wants to make a Mike Wazowski pumpkin). Exciting stuff, huh? Yeah real life is so glamorous. Happy Weekend Friends!

* Yesterday I finally got around to updating my events page and I’ve added a few that local gals will want to check out. One even involves playing bingo for designer handbags. Yup, you read that right.

* All of the sales are happening this weekend. I am restraining myself to stay strong with my no spend goal for this month. But that doesn’t mean I can’t pretend shop. So in my imaginary shopping cart is this pastel pink coat from Piperlime (save 20% with code FALL20) and this boots + jeans combo from Madewell (Get 30% off with code OHFALL or just pop in the store and save).

* My gal Grace {A Southern Drawl} looks all grown up in this tweed number. She crushes a casual look but personally I love a great work ‘fit and the jacket she’s rocking is both classy and super cute.

* I fell in love with Thirsty Hearts Design when I rocked this tee but I became officially obsessed after ordering this ‘Apple of My Eye’ print. Can’t wait to hang it up in D3’s room. Now I’m trying to narrow down my next purchase.

* I’m loving hats lately (clearly) so I couldn’t get enough of this edition of the Atlanta Style Series. Love all gals in this link-up so be sure to check out all their blogs. My only question: is it cool enough to rock wool hats in Atlanta yet?

* Do you follow District Sparkle on Instagram? If not, you need to. Meaghan is super witty, has great style and a REALLY cute dog. She’s also relatable (read: not all peonies, coffee and expensive shoes).

* This Caprese Pizza that Lexi {Glitter, Inc} made has my mouth watering. And the recipe looks easy. Add it to the list.

* If you’re looking to brighten up your Pinterest feed, make sure you’re following Mrs. Lilien (chances are you already are or if not, that you’ve pinned one of her bright, fun images before). Seriously, she’s pinning all things that are good – cocktails, pretty clothes, holiday fun, party planning, cute stuff for kiddos, travel lust, I could go on.

* Last but not least, in case you missed it, do me a proper and check out Monday’s post. Wasn’t sure how I felt about rocking a hat on the blog (well, a non-Derby hat) but now I think it’s one of my favorite looks I’ve ever shared. Thinking about wearing it again this weekend.

Favorite Things: Summer Snaps

It’s been a great summer. Full of changes, fun and quality time with friends and family. One of my favorite things is to scroll back through Instagram pics and do a quick stroll down memory lane. With the season over and since I hadn’t done this in a while, I’m recapping summer in instas.

It started in Texas for my best gal’s bachelorette and ended with a quiet weekend at home. In between there were weddings, pool days {and nights}, lots of cocktails and a new puppy. So sorry if this post is a little gratuitous but since, at the end of the day, this blog is my little space to keep track of life {love and the pursuit of shopping}, I’m going to make sure I have one space where all these moments are saved.

Went to Austin and became cowgirls {with Kelly} | Got the sweetest new puppy Amos
Headed down south for the SBS Brunch and met the greatest group of new blogging buds | Came home with lots of new goodies c/o Paige, C.Wonder, American Eagle and the W Buckhead

Jump! Jump! Tried out the trampoline work out | Sported some sparkle from DERNG
Pretended to be domestic and act like growing flowers wasn’t a total fluke | Smiled my way through my best friend’s wedding

Wore out this Target Vest & BaubleBar lovely | Stocked up on Sole Society summer essentials
Shopped til I dropped at the Gilt pop-up shop | Spent 4th of July with my favorite pool partner/crazy cats fan Megan

Spent tons of time with my best boy | Kept it bright and colorful
Hit up the St. Joe’s picnic (aka my favorite place/thing/event ever) THREE times | Closed down the picnic as the coverall bingo winner {and took home $25}

Picked up a colorful new client and a new friend in Laura from KlusterHosted a killer clothes swap party
Rocked my clothes swap finds as many times as possible from the colorful looks |to the more basic ones.

Checked out the Monkee’s of Louisville Grand Opening | Then proceeded to wear this Loren Hope tassel necklace I snagged there non stop.
Got ready for white jeans after Labor Day a little early | Kept it bright with this Kluster happiness.

Oogled the sparkle at the Motown exhibit at the Ali Center | Picked up some sweet treats at the New Albany Farmer’s Market and Dress & Dwell
Watched this guy swim the day away | Closed summer down with a day of football with Drew.

Now that summer is in the books, I’m ready to get fall under way. Want to follow along for fall? Head over here.

What was your favorite memory of summer? Can’t pick one? I totally understand. What were your top two {or three} memories? Let’s get a big collection going below.

Favorite Things: In An Instant

It’s been a while since I’ve done a little instagram adventures recap so I figured there’s no time like the present to catch up.

I’m kind of obsessed with instagram because it’s just the good stuff – the pictures and interesting (or sometimes not as interesting – depends on who you ask) snippets of people’s lives. I try not to inundate my feed with too much silliness but obviously there are moments I can’t help it. I also can’t help snapping pics of the little man from time to time.  These are just some of my favorite moments, so if you want the whole shebang follow along here.

Clockwise from top left: Getting in the valentine’s day spirit (Shirt: Gap; Necklace: BaubleBar); My favorite, go-to Banana Republic trench; Working on my fitness in neon; My fave recent outfit post

A birthday extravaganza at 610 Magnolia – complete with me geeking out meeting Chef Edward Lee; Fabulous birthday gift from my step-dad; Birthday wishlist happiness from BaubleBar courtesy of my mother-in-law; a delicious birthday treat from 610.

Neon and a little tribal print (jacket: ZARA; top: Forever21); The Ah-Maz-Ing Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco – go get one now; polka dots and lots of necklaces; my little man being messy.
Getting organized with help from May Books and a little initial dish from Dandelion (thanks mal!)

A casual Friday look (from warmer days – top: forever21; jeans: AG); Me and my little man; Reminiscing while cleaning up my office; two of my best guys – Slim & Nuggie aka my dad and little guy.
