So remember when I said I had my s**t together this week? I totally lied.
But the kids are all back in school and I feel mildly liberated. And by liberated, I mean free to get my work done during semi-normal business hours. Speaking of work, it has been hectic but great… but also stressful and nerve wracking and full of things you never realized you had to manage. But I love it and am excited about what it holds. I’m just still trying to get into a routine and balance with it and the blog – so bear with me. Pretty pretty please.
Speaking of work – since I’ve been out meeting with people WAY more than I have in years, it’s time for me to start dressing a little more professionally. I mean, I’m still sporting jeans and a tee when it’s just me, a computer screen and Lynsey (my biz partner) but if I’m going to see someone, I’m trying to master the whole “dress for the job you want, not the one you have” mentality.

I’ve been slowly adding in more work blouses (how old lady of a word is BLOUSE?) and structured pants – like these Club Monaco ones (a little bit of splurge but when you consider the wear you get out of them, it’s worth it). I picked up this bell-sleeve top from J.McLaughlin and I love love love it. Here’s the thing though, I have the LONGEST arms ever. Seriously, you know how if you hold your arms out, that’s how tall you’re supposed to be? Well, if you do that with my arms, it measures out 5’11″which is three inches taller than I am. So yeah, it’s no exaggeration.
The long arm situation makes it hard for me to rock sleeves like these because it hits just a L I T T LE too high on my wrist. It’s basically the equivalent of when your pants are too short and you give off that Huck Finn vibe. Most of the time, I just roll up the sleeves but with this top, that won’t fly so I just decided to give in and rock it anyways. It’s so cute, I just couldn’t send it back. Anyone else out there struggle with monkey arms? Or is it just me?
