Anyone else still recovering from this weekend’s Easter sugar high? I gave up candy for Lent which called for a serious sugar binge yesterday. I’m thinking I may need to give it up for another 40 days to recover. I’m also pretty sure that Easter is now my son’s favorite holiday now. For him combining competitive hide & seek + candy = best day ever.
Now that Easter is behind us, there’s no more big days on the calendar between now and Derby so the mad rush is officially underway. Today I’m hoping to pop-in with a couple Derby posts but I’ve had a lot of friends ask me for dress suggestions. I always point them HERE to my Derby pinterest board since I’ve got WAY more dresses there than I could ever post over here. If you’re looking for options, definitely check it out.
Today’s look is a little walk on the wild side with Caitlin and Ashley. I love the less traditional Derby-style print on the Milly dress from Clodhoppers that Cailtin is sporting alongside a more traditional white Derby hat. For Ashley, we went with a blank canvas in the form of this simple, yet super flattering white number from Dress & Dwell. With an all-white dress you can really go for any look with accessories. Pastel for a preppy look. Bright neons for a bold look or like we did here, a little walk on the wild (okay not super wild) side with feather and red and yellow pops of color.
Have you settled on your Derby look yet?
On Ashley:
Dress: The Elga White Knit Dress by BB Dakota (on sale now) available at Dress & Dwell; Headpiece: Headcandi; Necklace: Dress & Dwell
On Caitlin:
Dress: Milly available at Clodhoppers; Bag: Dandelion Boutique; White Hat with Yellow Flowers : Headcandi Photos by Whitney Neal.
Love both of these dresses! That headpiece is amazing. I’ve been slacking this year and haven’t bought a dress yet…ah! I’m hoping I’ll have time to head to cloudhoppers next week.
