We’re off! With less than 50 days until the Run for the Roses it’s time to start talking all things Kentucky Derby. If you’ve been through a Derby season around here before, you know I LIVE for the first Saturday in May. Thank the lord above, I am not pregnant this spring so I have lots of content lined up to get you ready for the races. And, as always, if you have any Derby-related questions, leave a comment or drop me an email (danielle@louwhatwear.com) and I’ll do my best to help out.
The Derby Dress of the Day ideas will start this afternoon but I am very excited to bring back the actual outfits again. And what better way to start than with this pretty pink number from Dress & Dwell paired with a Headcandi fascinator perfect for the Kentucky Oaks. D&D is one of my favorite local boutiques especially this time of year. They have TONS of dresses at a variety of price points, plus if you bump into Britni working – she can help you pick out the perfect hat or you can chat with her about designing one special for you. Check out their Derby Shop for lots of full looks.

Clearly, I will need a spray tan before the actual races but give a girl a break here, I threw this whole thing together with the quickness the day before and it was ridiculously cold the morning I shot these looks. Oh and I got no less than 10 odd stares from passerbys on Cherokee Road. I may be ready for Derby but apparently, the word is still getting out to everyone else.
Quick note about the fascinator: I linked to the exact one BUT if you like the style and want a different color combo, just message Britni through her Etsy shop and she’ll get you all taken care of. You can do this with any of her pieces. She can also work with you to create something special if you have a vision for your perfect piece. And, best part of all – you can save 15% off any order now through March 31 with code LOUWHATWEAR.
Yay! I’m so excited to see everything; I love these posts!
Best time of year to live in Louisville! Can’t wait to see all your Derby content this year.
