I’ve been on a little bit of a hiatus in conjunction with my Florida vacation and of course, while I was gone the new Nordstrom Rack opened (technically it opens tomorrow). Thankfully my pal Kelly stepped up and said she’d cover the grand opening event for me. So last night she braved the crowds to bring us all the early details.  Here’s what she had to say.

What can I say about the new Nordstrom Rack? In a word: AWESOME.

I was lucky enough to attend the soft opening yesterday in place of the lovely and fashionable Danielle.  I brought along my trusted fashion consultant Kristen and together we braved the deal-crazed crowd. Trust me when I say deal-crazed, I personally overheard a woman say, “I thought she was going to body-check somebody for those Burberry boots!”  Soft openings…where people stop being polite and start getting real.

Onto the loot, Nordstrom Rack has everything you would want from a high-end department store. Racks upon racks of great clothes, 30+ aisles of shoes, hair and beauty products, kids gear, an entire wall of accessories, and a seriously stocked purse and bag section. Label lovers rejoice, Nordstrom Rack has them all; Kate Spade, DVF, Tory Burch, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Ray-Ban, Burberry…just to name a few.  Did I forget to mention that everything in the store is marked down at least 50% off of the retail price, usually more?!  It’s like Black Friday Every. Single. Day.

Though the scene was a little chaotic, the event did a great job of showcasing what Nordstrom is known for, quality finds and stellar customer service. There were tons of friendly sales associates around to answer questions or help customers find something. They also had several food and beverage stations, which kept shoppers happy. I may have indulged in a mini-champagne bottle…or two. Who can resist a pink bendy-straw? The store opens to the public on Thursday, October 10th. I strongly encourage you to check it out.
