The weather may not agree but it’s officially Derby season around here. Leading up to the big race, local gals have the chance to check out the latest fashion at a number of local fashion events. One of the most anticipated is NFocus Magazine’s Runway for the Roses.
The event is a stand-out based on the unique perspective of the magazine’s Creative Director Gunnar Deatherage. You may recognize Deatherage from his time on Project Runway, where he presented at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week. He’s now back in Louisville, putting his high-fashion touch on the magazine and its events. In between preparing for the big runway show on April 2nd, Deatherage took some times to talk Derby, Louisville favorites and his inspiration with me.
Last but not least, NFocus is generously giving two General Admission tickets away to one lucky Lou What Wear reader. So check out Gunnar’s favorites and then make sure to enter for two seats!

I just love how much there is to do in Louisville around Derby time- free concerts, tons of events, lots of fun at the track- it’s my favorite time of the year! 🙂
The parade, the marathon, the balloon glow & races anything outdoors really!
Wine Fest although not this year bc I’m prego. Otherwise anything for kiddos.
