I’ve been on a big black and white kick lately. I’d love to tell you it’s because I’ve found my edgier, more modern side but it’s not. It’s because I’m lazy AF and sticking to a simple color palette makes getting ready in the morning much easier. Kind of like one of those capsule wardrobes that everyone is talking about on Pinterest and Instagram except for the fact that I haven’t curated (how pretentious is that word?) a damn thing. It’s mostly just grabbing the first black or white top that catches my eye (extra bonus points for stripes or a pattern) and throwing on a blazer to make it look polished.
Aren’t I an inspiring blogger!? ???? Come back often, I’ll be sharing more tips on how to avoid looking like a sewer rat when picking up your kids at daycare.
Anyways, back to the point. This Madewell top is the perfect addition since it fits the prerequisites of being both black and white but is also cute, dare I say chic and has an interesting shape. About the shape, though, it’s a bit oversized. I ended up returning this one in medium and ordering a small online. It’s pretty baggy. Also, Madewell does that sizing thing where they make you feel good about wearing a small until you realize they also carry XXXS.
Keeping it short and sweet today since it’s Election Day – plus I have a pile of crap I need to catch up on at work. Make sure you go vote and then raise a glass to celebrate the end of this totally crazy election season. Oh but one thing, I totally made a mistake and was supposed to share the $500 giveaway today and not yesterday – so it’s at the bottom of this post again!

I feel the same way about black! I wear it because I’m lazy, it’s easy, and honestly I actually feel MUCH more productive in my work when I’m not wearing a bunch of color. I think art teachers are supposed to dress more colorful though 🙁 oops lol
