I am in an inspiration rut. I know the New Year is supposed to be full of new ideas, a fresh start and all kinds of other happy, find it on instagram, joy. And while the new year has kicked my ass in gear to clean out my closet, hop on the treadmill more regularly (training for that mini-marathon) and open up a new planner (trying to stick to those to-do’s), it has left me less than enthused about all things blogging.
That sucks right?
Sorry to be all debbie downer today but I figured I’d clue you in. That being said, I’m trying to stay positive and have made plans to freshen things up. Got the ball rolling on a new blog design, brainstorming on ways to evolve the site and rededicating myself to “shopping” my own closet rather than jump on the internet to buy something new whenever I’m in a style rut. But I feel like I need a kick-start in the fashion department. One minute I’m feeling good about my sartorial choices and the next minute I just want to throw in the towel and wear sweatpants. The fact that it was 55 degrees over the weekend and now 5 degrees is also probably not helping.
So I’m putting the jumper cables on my style and looking for some new outfit inspiration. Not fashion week inspiration but get up in the morning and get dressed for work or hanging out with friends style inspiration.

I totally understand the frustrating feeling of feeling uninspired. I go through that with my blog sometimes too, and often feel like that with my personal fashion at similar times.
I’m just annoyed about how cold it’s been, because I have fun outfit ideas, but it’s just too cold to wear anything that doesn’t involve many, many layers, snow boots and a down coat.

Something About That
It is SO cold here in Chicago. I actually laughed at myself today as I was pulling my fleece sweatpants over my leggings before I ran out the door to work this morning…this is Chicago street style in the winter. Wuff! Love this inspiration!

Getting the New Year started is hard enough without having these freezing cold temps to deal with! I totally know where you’re coming, the struggle is real.
I totally know what you mean about being in a rut. I’d much rather live in head-to-toe sweats right now, too. Know that you’re not alone! You got this.
