The photo below was taken on February 20 which seems like 37 years ago at this point. But since it’s apparently summer now and pools are opening again soon, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite swim suit brands. Especially since a couple people DM’ed me saying they’re going on vacation soon and need some inspo after being cooped up for what seems like an eternity.
The good news too is that lots of swimwear is on sale.
We Wore What
This is my favorite one piece I’ve ever purchased. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the brand and was a little worried about the price point but this suit was worth every penny.

Super flattering, high-quality material and just enough booty coverage (it is a little cheeky but in a good way). I’ve recently decided to stick with mostly black bathing suits so I didn’t mind spending more on this suit since I’ll wear it for years.
The best news is that it’s on sale for 50% off on their site. Plus it’s available in other prints colors. Linked a bunch below and most are on sale.
Aerie Swim
If you haven’t tried an Aerie bathing suit, what are you waiting for? Their suits are the best for the price point.
First off, I LOVE that they show their suits on real bodies of all shapes and sizes. So you can actually visualize how it will look on you instead of a 20 year old super tall and thin model (no hate, no shade cause I’m jealous but it’s not me).
Second, their high-waist bottoms are far and away the best I’ve ever tried (and I’ve ordered and returned TONS of suits). I have these in three colors (two pairs are black – one regular and one ribbed) and then I just buy different tops to mix and match. Also, unrelated but these cover-up shorts are everything and I have two pairs.
Right now they’re all on sale for $20 or less. Go get a pair now.
Solid & Striped
Okay guys, clearly I love a belted suit and need a defined waist.
I’ve had an earlier version of this Solid & Striped suit for two years and it’s held up amazingly well. It still looks new.
The ribbing sucks you in but is still lightweight. Again, a little pricier but worth the splurge. And the one on the right is on sale for $50 right now (such a deal and I may order).
I always get compliments when I wear one of their suits and any compliment in a bathing suit is worth 10x more.
The majority of the suits in my closet are one of these three brands but I also love Athleta for a suit for playing with the kids and keeping the girls locked in and Mara Hoffman for a great print and fit. Both are good for women with real bodies and generally run true to size. Included a couple of those below in case they strike your fancy!
Happy Swimming + Sunning!
