I’m taking a quick break from the Derby action for my first post as part of the Glam Style Squad. I was pumped to be selected and couldn’t wait to see what was in my first delivery from this installment’s sponsor, Marshalls.
When I pulled open the box, I knew this dress would be my go-to for this post. Simple with a twist – the leather collar and peplum – totally fit my style. Not going to lie, it was a little weird to throw on an all black ensemble in the middle of the colorful Derby week. But once I paired it with polka dots, I felt comfortable getting back in black.
My favorite part of this dress was how versatile it is to go from day-to night. I planned to show it without the jacket but no lies, I looked kind of wonky in the pictures. Take off the jacket, take down your hair and boom – ready for drinks or dinner. I know it’s spring and almost summer so you’re not in the mood to do all black and white – so instead of black shoes, throw on bright sandals or add a bright white blazer (I’m on the hunt for one – suggestions would be lovely!).
Gotta love Marshalls for being able to find serious goodies at a seriously good price. When I hit up a Marshall’s, I have to give myself at least a full hour so I can get digging to find my hidden gems. The bonus is that there are hidden gems in there no matter what your style.
p.s. – how pretty is this blooming bush in my pal Kelly’s backyard?

Gorgeous dress and your yellow bag is awesome!
