First off, I can’t lie – I have so much FOMO about not going to New York this week. I can’t help but get a little {yeah right, a lot jealous} when I get on Instagram. Pretty bummed but work and life {and home repair} got in the way this year so I’ll be following along from home and anxiously awaiting my next trip to NYC.  Not to get all introspective but I realized it’s hard to focus on all the good stuff around me when my head is looking down at my phone. So I’m going to focus on all the cool stuff happening around here in the next couple weeks (more on that later today or tomorrow – lots of local events and news to share). The good news is it’s inspired me to work on some new features for the blog.

Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, on to the outfit post. Earlier this year, I did a month full of posts where I reworked items in my closet with some inspiration from Pinterest. It’s especially helpful in the times between seasons when the weather may not allow for new seasonal gear but you don’t want to wear things the way you’ve been wearing them all season. When I saw this picture I knew I wanted to recreate something similar since I have the exact same jacket (or almost the exact same jacket). I’ve had this floral skirt for a while but never could figure out exactly what I wanted to pair with it and with a nudge from the internets, I found it’s perfect match.

This necklace may need to make a permanent stop in my house. Love how simple it looks alone but it layers amazingly. Get excited – I’m going to be doing a Stella & Dot giveaway later this week thanks to Jen Kuhle and I can’t wait. One lucky gal is going to get some pretty new sparkle.
