I am currently in the midst of a serious love affair with Charleston. For some reason or another, I have been to Charleston four times in the last year or so and it’s something I am certainly not complaining about. Last week, I skipped out of town and headed to the Holy City again for The Blog Societies conference. It was the perfect chance to catch up with blogging friends, meet some new ones and pick up some blogging tips while making plenty of time to eat and drink my way through town (stay tuned for a travel post). Plus I got to sleep in a hotel for two days sans kids which was a sweet gift from up above.
Before all the conference fun kicked off, my pal Tiffany {Tiffany Style Blog – follow her, she’s awesome} and I snuck in a quick shoot with the amazing Jessica Smith of Smith Photos + Ink. If you’re in Charleston and in need of pics (for a wedding, engagement session, family pics or if you’re a blogger), you need to call Jess. Not only is she crazy talented but also a lot of fun.
At blog conferences there can be a lot of peacocking. Everyone pulling out all the stops on their outfits and while I like to go all out at times, I can’t help but stick with the simple basics most of the time. It really comes down to what I feel the most confident in and more importantly, comfortable in. This white denim + chambray shirt combo fits the bill. Loving this new Vineyard Vines chambray since it’s a little on the longer side which makes it perfect to use as a cover-up at the pool (it’s still summer – don’t let the stores fool you). And while fall does seem a while away right now, I’m sure I’ll be layering it over basics when the temperatures drop (even if it’s just a little bit).
Love this casual, everyday look!
