In the mornings {or any other time} when I’m getting ready for work, sometimes I’ll put together an outfit, look at Drew and say, “Is this ridiculous?” Usually he says kinda (which I take as a good thing – usually what I’m going for), sometimes he says no and other times I get a look that clearly says, “100% Yes.” Yesterday was one of those days.
But it’s fun to be a little ridiculous sometimes.
I’ve had these polka dot tights since before Christmas but have never found the right time to wear them. But when I got this skirt in my swap* with Beth from S+S, I knew they would be the perfect match. Originally, I planned to wear a simple black henley but then I thought “why not just go totally over the top?” So I went to the closet and pulled out a few polka dot tops to try. This one worked because the polka dots are all roughly the same size – so it keeps it pretty consistent. I also kept it in the same color palette to not get any more dotty than I already was.
Needless to say, the look elicited some reaction. Some good and some confused {aka my boss}. Either way, it was a fun way to get through Wednesday.

Yup, love it! Normally I would say “woah, thats a lot of dots!” (ok, I still said that) but I really like the way you did it! Its fun and flirty!

1. no such thing as too many dots.
2. Kevin and I have this same conversation about home decor. The more ridiculous he says it is, the more excited I get about it. Who doesn’t want a porcelin moose head with gold antlers above their fireplace?
I was actually wondering how this would look the other day, but didn’t have enough polka-dotted items of my own to try it out.

You sound just like me! 🙂
Thanks for posting this; I really enjoyed it 🙂
