I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect leather addition to my wardrobe but nothing really jumped out at me. I love leather leggings but don’t think they would work for me. Huge fan of the leather peplum top but it just doesn’t flatter this figure. But boy do I love a good button up. So this one from C&C California did the trick by adding a little leather to my go-to basic. Finally, the piece I’ve been looking for.
The gray weather on Wednesday had me breaking out the all black but before heading out the door dressed for a funeral, I added a little bit of sparkle to reflect my excitement for a day spent at Churchill Downs (btw – I won 4 races and ended up $10 up – victory!).
I’ve got my eye on this and this for some other great {faux} leather options.
{Remember if you’re in Louisville, tonight is the Holy Spirit Holiday Event & the Lexington Road Holiday Open House! Find all the details here. Hope to see you there!}
Top: c/o C&C California; Pants: Gap (great alternative to J.Crew Minnie Pants. Love these & they’re on sale!); Necklace: Spike the Punch; Wedges: BCBG from DSW; Bracelets: Stella & Dot (1, 2, 3)
Love the shirt and the wedges! i have been loving the faux leather but have had a hard time finding stuff that works for me other than my leather jacket….i agree that the peplum is super cute but i cant get it to work on my body. i disagree that the leggins wouldnt work for you. your legs would look jamming in them 🙂
In love with that shirt! Couldn’t agree more about the peplum not working, but the button up- I can totally wear that!

Love love love this look! And I have those wedges they are a fall must!
[…] That is until I got this shirt from C&C California. It’s just enough leather to give any look a little edge but packaged in a traditional button-up making it more work friendly. It still may be a little much if you work in a very traditional office setting but if you’ve got a tad more freedom while still needing to look professional, I think I found the solution. Not into leopard? Here’s another way to wear it. […]
