Without question, the first words out of my mouth, err keyboard today have to be a crazy big THANK YOU for all your feedback (loved both the good and the bad), kind words and encouragement. It is so very much appreciated. Seriously if I could send out a big internet hug to all of you – I totally would. Since that’s impossible (for now at least, who knows what they’ll come up with next), this note will have to do. I am planning on replying to ‘ery single comment – just give me a hot second cause my work to-do list has got me tap dancing as fast as I can.
I’m going to spend the next few days digesting and thinking about the feedback (you can still keep it coming over here in case you haven’t had a chance yet. Read here if you have absolutely no clue what I’m talking about). It seems like coming up with a weekly content plan might be my best bet so then you’ll know when to expect an outfit post and when I’ll be talking local (definitely a polarizing topic so I’m thinking we’ll keep ’em around but on one specific day a week). I’ll also start doing my very best to share some more “real life” content. Most exciting of all is your openness to hearing about my obsession with television. Stay tuned (yay for cheesy puns) for more on all of this.
One thing that was clear from the survey is that you all dig outfit posts, especially the ones that showcase a little “closet shopping.” Well for today’s I’m not only bringing out some oldies but goodies (all featured on here before) but giving the main stage to something borrowed. See my friend Megan (not name dropping here with that link, she’s been featured on here many a time so check her out if ya wanna) is currently playing the role of cutest pregnant gal in town. And while being pregnant has it’s many pluses (eating ice cream with no shame, elastic pants, getting a new sweet little friend at the end), one of the downsides is not being able to fit into some of the cute ass clothes in your closet.
Megan’s closet has many an amazing dress and we both agreed it was a crying shame for them to sit all alone in her closet until November. So at some point this summer I went over there and adopted a handful for them so they could get out of the house from time to time. And boy have they come in handy (most recently at a wedding this past Saturday). One little number I was VERY excited to borrow and even more excited to finally fit into was this striped pretty.
And as fun as it is for summer parties, I thought I’d style it up for work for something new. It’s gonna be hard to give it back and now there’s no chance she’ll forget I have it. 🙂
Quick tip: Want to keep some of your summer favorites rolling into fall? Throw a blazer over it (or a cozy sweater/cardigan) and pair ’em with boots, booties or a fall heel. Your dress will thank you from saving it from storage (I like to imagine all my clothes like they are characters in Toy Story or Handy Manny – go ahead and judge).
