A couple years ago, I thought wedding season was starting to die down for Drew and I. Most of our close friends were married and I figured we wouldn’t be getting to spend as many Saturdays dancing to Motown’s greatest hits. I was wrong. Dead wrong.
Work friends (so many work friends getting hitched), friends from home and family, including my brother-in-law (can’t wait for that one), have all decided that 2015 is the year of the wedding. It’s a little out of control in the best way possible. I mean what’s not to love about partying with friends, great music and drinks on the house? It’s a pretty great way to spend a Saturday night. The only thing that throws a loop in to wedding season, other than tracking down a babysitter, is figuring out what to wear. Outdoor wedding, black tie wedding, beach wedding, traditional weddings – we’ve got them all on the docket.
One thing I look for in hunting for wedding attire is a dress that is versatile. I have one great little black dress that I’ve worn to a handful of weddings because it’s easy to dress up, dress down and accessorize like crazy. This Shoshanna number isn’t a LBD but it’s as versatile as a little summer dress can be. The color is really flattering, the length is great and most importantly it’s comfortable enough for a night of eating, drinking and dancing. You can also pile on the jewelry to give it a different look or pair it down with simple sandals – like these crazy comfy espadrilles – and beachy waves for an outdoor party. I kept it simple here so you can see the subtle pattern but you can bet I’ll be mixing it up next time I break it out.

I can’t believe it’s already wedding season again.. I don’t think I have that many friends getting married this year, but tons getting engaged. So that means next year, I need to find a wedding date or two.

That’s a great dress! I can think of so many ways to style it to get mileage out of it
