Outift Post: Ikat at the End of the World

Jul 20, 2012

Happy Friday! Today’s post closes out a really amazing week here on Lou What Wear. I know I said ti twice yesterday but the feedback has really been great. And I’m very excited to say it was the biggest week (and month so far) that I’ve had.

If you were in Louisville last night, you know how weird the skies looked around 8 or 9 –  everything had an orange-ish glow giving the sky an end of the world look.  I’m glad that Kelly (my co-worker/resident photographer) reminded me to snap an outfit pic as we left after some post-work cocktails. Definitely a different look than my normal photos.

I snagged this dress at Blush Boutique and finally got to work it into an outfit. See it has an open back which makes it hard to wear without the right under garments but works perfectly with a blazer. It’s such a fun summer dress and I”m hoping that with a few more fall-ish basics (think brown boots, neutral cardigan & scarf), I can transition it to early fall.

I’ve got some fun stuff {more giveaways!} planned for next week… so until then, have a fun weekend!

Blazer: Forever 21 (available in Navy here); Dress: Blush Boutique; Necklace & Earrings: Stella & Dot; Shoes: Target (old); Bag: Kate Spade

Love it! I wore ikat skinny jeans the other day and my friends did not believe me that the print was called “ikat.”
