If you’ve plopped down with one of the massive September issues of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, etc, etc, etc, lately then you’ve probably seen a lot of two things: the cap toe shoe and the smoking slipper. You may have even seen some lust-worthy combos of the two.
While I’m not sure that this look is for me and my personal style (frankly, my size 10 feet are too big for the smoking slipper, much to my dismay), I definitely dig it. On the other hand, I’m not committed (and doubt many of you are) to spending a fortune on something that may be a passing trend. I got so much great feedback on my last “lust vs. must” post that I thought I’d bring it out again. So here it is, the lust vs. must on one of fall’s biggest trends.
Smoking Slipper: Lust – Sigerson Morrison ($450) vs. Must – DV by Dolce Vita ($79)
Boot: Lust – Alice & Olivia ($405) vs. Must – ZARA ($150)
I’m a big fan of the cap toe shoes, but I don’t think I like the combo of the smoking slipper with the cap toe. I’m not sure I can get into the smoking slipper…i don’t really know why.
