If your inbox is anything like mine you’ve been inundated with sale emails lately. End of summer, pre-fall, friends and family – whatever they call it, stores have been handing out some big mark-downs to get you shopping. I’ve been trying to avoid the lure but it’s hard not to take a look.

I may not be in the majority when I say that I’m not ready for summer to be over – I love those long summer pool days, warm temperatures and all the fun outdoor activities that go along with them. That being said, I’m done buying the warm weather clothes that accompany the good times but I’m also not on the hunt for jackets, boots and other fall essentials just yet. It’s a little hard for me to want to buy cool weather gear when it’s a toasty 90 degrees outside (and don’t even get me started with how humid it is).

So when I’ve been browsing those sale racks (both in real life and online), I’ve kept my focus on looking for items that can work for now and later.I’ve rounded up a few things that you can easily work into your wardrobe now but that will work long into the fall months.

ASOS Leather Jacket

Most of the items on the list are pretty self-explanatory and all of them are under $200 (most are under $100). The only higher priced items are the denim and booties – which when you think about the cost per wear, end up not breaking the bank. I’m planning on investing in a great pair of booties again this fall because the last two pairs I’ve had, I’ve worn down to the point of total destruction. Seriously, I bought a pair two years ago that I wore so much that the top edges began unraveling.

I’ve also made sure to only include options that can be both dressed up and down. Like this dress could easily pair with a light jacket – like this one – and flat boots for day; pair it with a simple pair of heels and a blazer for work; or add strappy sandals for a night out.

And since I couldn’t help but do a little looking ahead, this faux leather jacket, with the waterfall front, is now firmly atop my wish list.
