Shopping: Spring Break Ready in 10

Mar 8, 2013

I miss Spring Break.

I’m pretty spoiled because my husband’s company does an annual trip somewhere warm which basically is a grown-up spring break but there’s something so fun about a break with all your friends. College spring breaks were pretty sweet and I can remember heading to Target for a serious shopping run.

p.s. – Speaking of Target, I’ve partnered with them on a series of posts this spring, so you’ll be hearing more about the store that is my shopping guilty pleasure (go for milk, leave with a new bathing suit).

So when Target asked me to pick my favorite spring break swimwear, I knew it would be a challenge. The lure of the bathing suit racks is oh, so strong whenever I walk in the store (just right there on the left). And no matter what, I always end up taking a quick peak.

I love all the colors and prints but more than anything, I love all the mix and match options. And in my nature, I generally end up sticking with classic colors and prints (but always being a tad envious of the gals who can ROCK brights and prints with ease).

For my post, I re-imagined doing my pre-Spring Break Target shopping run (but with less turquoise fold over skirts and more simple mix and match options). So here’s 10 things to throw in your carry on before heading south.

I stuck with my standard navy color palette with a little touch of print and color. I like picking pieces perfect for spring break but with a life beyond the beach. I can imagine pairing this top with a blazer and jeans. The skirt with a simple tee and cardigan and the dress with a army vest. Sticking with one color also helps make packing and outfit creation easier. And since I couldn’t resist a pop of print, I went with the bold bathing suit bottom but kept it simple up top. Oh and I did I mention that everything’s under $30?

Are you heading south for spring break? Where you going and more importantly, what are you packing?

Man, I miss Spring Break! I love that striped bathing suit and that ombre dress! Target totally sucks me….I buy a new bathing suit every year, and I wear it once because I’m not lucky enough to go anywhere to wear it! LOL.

  2. I really like Target for bathing suits. They don’t break the bank and are always so cute!
