I love that I’m writing a post about a spring fashion event and it is snowing outside my window. We must have seriously pissed off Mother Nature.
Anyways, it’s been a little bit since we’ve had some style spotting around these parts. It’s mostly because I’ve been hibernating for the winter. With more fun events coming up with Derby and wedding season, you’ll be seeing more of these posts.
Last week (okay maybe it was more like a week and a half ago – details), I hit up the Westport Village spring fashion show. If you’re not in the Louisville-area, Westport Village is a great collection of shops – boutiques, restaurants, a wine shop, a hair salon, etc – that team up to put on a fun event to get you in the mood for Derby and spring shopping. As much fun as seeing the clothes was, it was more fun to catch up with friends over cocktails and some amazing sushi (Hik-o-mon – we went back again the following week – delicious).
Here’s some of my favorite looks and details from the fun.
Kristen, Courtney and Megan
Megan – I love absolutely everything about this look. I love the contrast of the flouncy skirt and high pony-tail with the edge of the leather jacket and booties. I’m kind of obsessed with everything Megan wears so the fact that I was crushing over this look was no surprise.
Morgan, Shannon and Megan.
The night was a big contrast between bright spring colors and falling back on winter favorites. I love how Shannon added a touch of spring with the bright necklace. Morgan and Megan opted for breezy bright blouses both perfect spring transition pieces. And since I’m in a mint mood lately, I wanted to steal Morgan’s pastel top.
Courtney, Julie, Frances and Julie’s adorable Mom.
Things I want to steal/borrow: Courtney’s fun clutch, Julie’s green shift, Frances’ dangly green earrings and those blue pants.
Blair, Channing, Frances and Courtney
Love the sequin cardigan and that leather skirt.
And last but not least, yours truly with my pal Lynsey.
I’m rocking the neon lace skirt again – this time with a decidedly less tropical flair.
Great spotting! This weather is totally confusing and annoying! I hope the girl in the sleeveless top didn’t freeze to death, but the pearl collar is amazing! And Megan’s look is the perfect balance of girly and hard.
