Weddings are the best.
There’s no other way to put it and the one we went to this past weekend was pretty amazing. On Thursday night, Drew and I hopped in the car, along with our friends Grant and Kelly, to head south to Point Clear, Alabama for Dean Wilkinson and Frances Houston’s wedding. Nine hours and lots of Wendy’s later we made it to the Gulf for a weekend of fun at the Grand Hotel Marriott.
Fran and Dean were the ultimate hosts (they had a room stocked full of snacks, drinks and beer at the hotel just for guests!) and we couldn’t have had more fun if we tried. I think my sides still hurt from laughing so hard at the rehearsal dinner after-party. Even a little rain on Saturday couldn’t slow us, or our eating, down (if you’re ever in the town of Point Clear, stop by Sandy’s Place for a Chicken Salad Sandwich Melt. You won’t regret it).
I love doing style spotting at weddings (even if Drew HATES it) so I broke out the camera to take some snaps of some stylish guests. Oh and sorry for the lighting in the pics – it was super dark in the hotel ballroom.
The beautiful bride.

Ben and Charlene
Embellished neckline and gold stripes. Perfect for this southern soiree.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this necklace over a simple LBD.
Beau, Olivia and Payne.
You can’t tell in these pictures but the print on Olivia’s dress was so pretty and subtle.
Bailey and Courtney
First off, Bailey would look awesome in a paper bag. Second, I love how she threw a white blazer over this black & white dress. I had to include the creepy close-up so you could see the detail on the dress. The bridesmaid dresses were really simple which I loved, I also am pretty obsessed with Courtney’s sandals.
Todd, Grant, Payne, Steve and Ryan.
The guys at this wedding came dressed to impress.
Kelly, Rachel and me.
Apoloiges for the hair disaster. You know that mess went up right quick after this picture.
Grant & Kelly our road trip partners in crime.
Katie & Matt.
I’m not always a fan of floral but I am kind of obsessed with this print with the simple black background. Really pretty and I loved that Katie wore a maxi dress.
Kristen and Elizabeth
Trends in action – black & white and geometric prints.
Dakota and Cary’s
If I could raid any Louisville gals closet, I may have to go with Cary’s. She always looks so chic and this colorful maxi did not disappoint. And the simple gold cuff was the perfect accessory to compliment but not overpower the look. Dakota’s dress is one of those ideal closet staples. A great silhouette, fabric and color that works for almost anytime of year. Plus I want to steal that bow bag.
Meggie & Cary
Meggie just had a baby and looks fan.tas.tic. This lace number looked fab on her.
Peyton & Lizzie
Lizzie did not let a little pregnancy stop her from looking adorable. This blue color looks great on her and lord knows I never looked this good while prego at a wedding.
Louise & Stephen
Louise and I used to work together and I couldn’t have been happier to get the chance to catch up at the wedding. This pink and green combo isn’t the traditional southern one but I love the bright color with the mint necklace. p.s. – How cute is she?
So many fantastic looks, I can’t decide which is my favorite! You have some stylish and beautiful friends.
