Outfit Post: All-American

Okay so this post is a little delayed but I loved my Election Day outfit way too much to let it slide away into oblivion. Clearly I went a little overboard with my commitment to the red, white and blue but I can’t help but love Election Day. This year I made D3 tag along with me and he got to do a little faux-voting of his own (he even got his pic snapped by the Courier-Journal). I think he’s still pretty bummed that we don’t get to vote every day or at least once a month (gah, think about how many political commercials there would be if that was true). read more

Derby Dress of the Day: Red, White and a Little Blue for the Races

Happy (and Good) Friday! This week the swirl of Derby madness really set in and I’m struggling to keep up with it on all fronts. That’s not to say it’s not a good thing – it’s just a lot of things. Add in the whole being pregnant part and it’s a lot more than I think I’m ready for.

One thing I am ready for is seeing what everyone wears to the track. Last night I helped a friend pick out her dress (seriously, it’s like my favorite hobby – let me know if you want me to do some online scouring for you OR you can just head over to pinterest to see a ton of options) and I beg anyone going to the races to spill on what they’re going to wear. read more

Shopping {Your Closet}: American Summer Staples

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s pretty psyched for the 4th of July AND the four day weekend (hopefully you have a four day weekend too!). I think it ranks up there with Thanksgiving as one of those perfect holidays for celebrating with friends & family. No pressure of buying gifts just having fun and enjoying a day off.

I love a good Fourth of July style post but rather than show you a bunch of stuff you’d have to run out and buy, I thought I’d throw together some patriotic looks that you can easily assemble from similar items you may have hidden in your closet or drawers. read more
