Derby Dress of the Day: Think Pink for the Oaks

While the Derby is the main event, the Kentucky Oaks is no shrinking violet. These days, Oaks – which takes place on Friday – is almost as big as Derby, especially when it comes to getting dressed.

The day includes a variety of events that honor survivors, including a parade to honor them before the big race. To show support, all attendees are encouraged to wear a little (or a lot) of pink. read more

Moving on. Even though Derby is synonymous with hats, it doesn’t mean you should wear one everywhere you go over the {extended} weekend. The always adorable and totally put together Kristen knew this when she pulled the ‘Oaks Night Party’ card at our Derby shoot. While many gals may have gone towards a black dress, Kristen went neon pink and I love it. You could easily transition this dress from a day at the track to a night out. Just kick it up a notch with fancier shoes and accessories. read more
