Schools in Session * Sneaker Shopping with Shoe Carnival

Shoe Carnival provided me with product and compensation. The opinions I have shared about the products are my own.

I cannot believe school officially starts here next week. Where did the summer go?

It’s funny because I feel like I’m in the same ‘back-to-school’ mode as the kids since I’ve been on maternity leave almost all summer. The only difference is that I didn’t get to go buy lots of fun school supplies and a new backpack for my first day back in the office.

I did get to tag along with the kiddos to grab a new pair of sneakers though. And while the whole process of tracking down the entire supply list (just how many types of markers does one kid need?) and school uniforms can be a little stressful – going shopping for their new shoes was a lot of fun. read more

Favorite Things: Back to School Sneakers

How great is back to school shopping? Growing up, I always loved our annual trek to track down everything on my school supply list and then finishing up by picking out a fresh new pair of sneakers.

The night before the first day of school, I’d pack up my backpack, lay out my outfit (the original flat lay) and of course, my new shoes. No matter how far in advance we went shopping, those shoes didn’t hit the pavement until the first day. read more

Outfit Post: New Kicks

Over the weekend, Drew turned and looked at me and said, “It’s amazing the amount of things you think you can squeeze into one day.” That sentence basically sums up my life and definitely this weekend.

I don’t think it would have been possible to cram more into my Sunday, let alone this weekend. It included one surprise birthday party, one wedding in Cincinnati, one kids birthday party and we went to the Lyle Lovett concert (don’t judge – it was awesome). Plus, I cleaned out my closet in an attempt to sell all my goodies on Sunday (a ton is left over and I’m considering putting up pics on here to see if anyone is interested – lots of cute stuff that doesn’t fit/I don’t need) and took D3 school supply shopping. Running around is a habit. read more

Outfit Post: Kicking It

All I want to do after this busy weekend is spend the day being lazy in bed. That’s not going to fly though so I’m back behind my desk.

Saturday started with a soccer game (for 4-year old’s, it’s pretty darn cute), then went straight to a quick stop at Nulu Fest (a pretty awesome street festival here, more on that to come later this week) where D3 and I ate our way around Market Street while I snapped pictures and answered questions on their social media (the festival was a client of the PR firm where I work). read more
