Deal of the Day – Grab a New Fall Coat for 30% Off at Chartreuse

First off, sorry for the lack of pictures this week. I’ve been eating my weight in maple products (syrup, candy, bread, whatever) in Vermont the last few days. So to make up for the hiatus, I’m sharing a deal that Caitlin (@k8linB) gave me the scoop on while I was MIA.

Today at Chartruese Boutique in Westport Village you can snag a new fall coat for 30% off. The only catch is that this is a one day only event. So you’ll need to head over there ASAP to find your favorite before someone else snatches it up first. They’ve posted a bunch of pictures on their facebook page so you can scope out which one you’ll be looking for when you head over there.

Send me a pic if you end up heading over there. I’m currently on a bit of a shopping freeze so I like to shop vicariously through others.

I’ve got some really fun stuff in the works for Lou What Wear in the next few days that i’m really excited about. Let’s just say that it involves denim and playing dress up at one of my favorite local boutiques.

Tuesday Morning: Kate Spade Flash Sale

Most days when I check my email, it’s full of work stuff, junk mail and the same old same old shopping emails. But every once in a while, Kate Spade sends out the happy email signaling their flash sample sales. Last sample sale I scored a new phone cover for $15. I’m trying to curb the spending right now so I thought I would share some of my favorites from the sale – makes me feel like I’m shopping without opening up another flash sale find, the zebra print wallet I scored a few months ago.

Enjoy and make sure to shop early – sale ends tonight at 11:59 p.m.

Safari Evangeline $139.00
Carlyle Nadine $399.00
Mott Street Sammie $99.00
Cascade Bib Necklace $59.00
LauraLee $74.00
Hang in There Binocular Pendant $35.00

There are way too many fabulous things to just pick one favorite but there is something for every budget. I love this little pendant necklace but I think my personal favorite is the safari bag. For some reason. I’m loving animal prints right now. A little more fun than a basic neutral but plain enough to go with anything.

If you snag something in the sale, let me know so I can shop vicariously through you!

Girls Night Out at Coals

Today’s post is coming to your from a few hundred miles away from the 502. Me and the fam have taken a quick vacay to Vermont but I wouldn’t leave you hanging on a Monday morning. Today’s post is a collection of fits from a girls night out last Thursday night at Coals in St. Matthews. It was the first time in months our entire crew had gotten together for cocktails and the drinks, gossip and style did not disappoint.

p.s. – If you haven’t been to Coals yet, you need to try it. The pizzas are delicious and perfect for sharing. I had the Highlands and sampled The Waverly (which was not scary in the least) and they were both super tasty.

Morgan M – Dress: Bar III from Macy’s, Necklace: Collections (Westport Village)

Morgan always looks great and tonight was no exception. She just got married a couple weeks ago and she’s obviously still glowing. I wish I had snapped a better picture of her necklace which was a perfect addition to the look. Just enough color. I’ve seen her wear this before and it looks just as good with jeans and a t-shirt as it does to dress up a work look.

Emily – Hair Tie: J.Crew

I love this hair tie. Since I rock a ponytail 90% of the time, I want to go and grab one of these. Love love love it.

Kelly – Tunic: J.Crew (Doesn’t she look so pretty!?!)

Lindsay – Top: Free People

Megan – Top: H&M, Watch: Michael Kors

Tons of trends in this post. The polka dots on Lindsay looked great and Megan rocked this lace top from H&M – both looked way pricier than their price tag suggested.

Send in your pics from your girls night out!

When Shopping & Style Spotting Collide: Stella & Dot Party

Things have been so crazy busy lately that it feels like this post is months over-due. Instead, it’s a week late but better late than never.

Last Thursday night (after my Clodhoppers field trip), I headed over to the amazing Highlands home of Caitlin B (who is starting a grass roots campaign to get an Anthropolgie in Louisville – who’s with her? Let her know at @k8linB) for a Stella & Dot party. The night was full of wine, delicious food, gossip and a little shopping on the side – basically a perfect girls night. I shared some of my favorite items from the party last week but none of the lovely looks of the ladies in attendance.

Courtney –  Top: Plenty by Tracy Reese from Dillards

How cute is Courtney? Her outfits never disappoint – always classic with a little twist. I was obsessed with this blouse when she walked in and was jealous when I heard she snagged it on sale for something like $30.

Nails: Russian Navy by OPI

I had a twin manicure at the party. Turns out there were two of us rocking OPI’s Russian Navy with a dash of glitter on the ring finger. I love Taylor’s manicure and think it is perfect for fall. If you’re not ready to do the one glittery nail, you can keep it simple in with just Navy.  (I also love Essie’s Midnight Cami. ) I like how navy is just a little different than the dark purples, deep reds and black that are now nail color staples for fall.

Pretty Jewelry + Food + Friends = Happiness.

I have a great picture of our beautious hostess that somehow did not get on my computer so I will be finding that and adding it later. Thanks to Caitlin for such a fun night.

What’s your favorite nail color for fall? Is there a piece of jewelry that is on your must-have list?
